Black Panther director Ryan Coogler is currently doing the press rounds for the movie and he's fielding a lot of questions about where T'Challa and the world of Wakanda could go next. With many critics naming Letitia Wright's Shuri as the comic book adaptation's breakout star, the filmmaker was understandably quizzed on the possibility that she could suit up as the new Panther down the line.
Unfortunately, it doesn't sound like we'll get any hints in regards to that happening in this movie but it is something Coogler is interested in and is open to making a reality a little further down the line.
"We didn’t talk about it in terms of the future," Coogler admitted. "It was something I feel he was playing with [trying] to set up, but it didn’t happen. Hopefully it does. I’m happy that there’s room to allow Shuri to grow. I wanna sit with her a little bit more." That makes sense considering the fact she's pretty young and bear in mind that her comic book counterpart only suited up because T'Challa was gravely injured and could no longer serve as the hero. So, maybe Black Panther 3 or 4 then?
We'll have to wait and see but feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below.
