Kendrick Lamar To Compose Original Song For BLACK PANTHER

As if the upcoming film couldn't get any more star-studded, Kendrick Lamar has announced that he will be contributing to the films soundtrack with an original piece.

It seems that the teaser shown at SDCC set to Kendrick Lamar's DNA was a sign of things to come, as it was recently revealed that the artist will make an original song for Black Panther! Teased recently in a music video for his song LOVE, which Polygon put into a convenient gif-form below:

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is no stranger to original songs, as Captain America: The First Avenger featured "The Star Spangled Man", which was written by Disney legends Alan Menken and David Zippel, and even made the shortlist for Best Original Song for the Oscars, though it was not nominated. Perhaps a more current artist could change the tide? As the film comes out in less than two months, we will see soon enough what Marvel and Kendrick have in store for Black Panther.

Cool to see more original music coming to the MCU. That is a department well worth exploring, WB has had a lot of cool songs in their DC movies

How about some actual African music?

So far, we've only had American style music (be it rap or jazz).

Give me some afro-beats, people.

@MaximusTheMad - As much as I love Kendrick as an artist and Hip Hop. Coogler is from Cali, so I guess this choice makes sense. But I think Afro Beat and a cinematic score/theme would have more appropriate and make the movie more a MODERN EPIC. Who knows maybe there is some of that in there, I mostly see Hip Hop themed music.

I guess at the same time, the same could be said about Iron Man with the AC/DC and Black Sabbath tracks.

He could've been born in texas and his theme song would've still been a rap song.
