READY PLAYER ONE's Letitia Wright Lands Mysterious Role In Marvel's BLACK PANTHER
Relative unknown Letitia Wright is the latest addition to the cast of Black Panther, and while we know who the actress will be playing, could Marvel Studios be covering up her character's true identity?
Variety reveals that newcomer Letitia Wright has joined the cast of Black Panther. She joins a cast made up of names like Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Forest Whitaker, Lupita Nyong’o, and Danai Gurira, but who exactly will she be playing? Well, the trade says, "Wright will play the mystery role of Serita, who’s part of the Wakanda community." Before you go checking on Google, there's no sign of a character from the comic books with that name, so could she be playing someone else?
It's certainly possible, and it's worth noting that Wright bears quite a resemblance to the younger sister of T'Challa, Shuri. As you'll likely already know, she ineherited the Black Panther mantle for a time.
The actress has appeared in British TV shows like Doctor Who and Chasing Shadows, but Steven Spielberg's Ready Player One looks set to be hero breakout role. Wright was actually chosen from dozens of other actresses, so she's clearly talented. Black Panther is being directed by Ryan Coogler and is set to be released on February 16th, 2018.
