Ryan Coogler Comments On Landing BLACK PANTHER Directing Gig And Why He's Excited

HeyUGuys recently caught up with Ryan Coogler to talk Creed, but were quick to ask him how it felt to learn that he's taking the helm of Black Panther"I'm excited. I grew very into pop culture, very into comic books, so it's something that is just as personal to me as the last couple of films I was able to make. I feel really fortunate to be able to work on something I'm this passionate about again." Adding that he's "absolutely" approaching the Phase 3 movie in the same "personal and intimate" way as Creed, Coogler seemingly confirmed that he's already begun work on Black Panther, so perhaps we'll start hearing more details about the movie in the coming months!

Honestly I have felt that Coogler would be more perfect for Spider-Man.

Still excited for Black Panther.

Please do not chain this guy up and follow the same boring formula for a marvel origin story.

I need to see Creed, and I've been waiting for Black Panther for awhile now.

@aquaman

White Main character= white director for the past 10+ marvel movies. If there's any racism its right there.

It still kills me how black/female directors are held up to the highest standard, while many white male directors (CBMs especially) that are praised for their mediocrity.

When Hollywood stops going to white directors for white character-led movies by default, then we can legitimately bring up the "black character + black director = racism" complaints again.

If Michael B Jordan joined the MCU, who could he play?

Now all we need is Andy Serkis confirmed as Klaue, and Wesley Snipes confirmed as T'Chaka and were set.

No. Bring back Snipes as Blade
