Ryan Coogler Comments On Landing BLACK PANTHER Directing Gig And Why He's Excited
For the first time since Marvel officially announced that Ryan Coogler (Creed) will direct Black Panther, the filmmaker has commented on landing the gig and revealed why he's looking forward to handling T'Challa's long overdue first solo outing. Hit the jump for details!
HeyUGuys recently caught up with Ryan Coogler to talk Creed, but were quick to ask him how it felt to learn that he's taking the helm of Black Panther. "I'm excited. I grew very into pop culture, very into comic books, so it's something that is just as personal to me as the last couple of films I was able to make. I feel really fortunate to be able to work on something I'm this passionate about again." Adding that he's "absolutely" approaching the Phase 3 movie in the same "personal and intimate" way as Creed, Coogler seemingly confirmed that he's already begun work on Black Panther, so perhaps we'll start hearing more details about the movie in the coming months!
