We know that
Black Widow takes place between the events of
Captain America: Civil War and
Avengers: Infinity War, but what we don't know is whether the movie will delve into Natasha's past, explaining what happened in Budapest with Hawkeye and her first meeting with The Winter Soldier.
Black Widow was killed off in
Avengers: Endgame, but recent comments from Scarlett Johansson have pointed to her starring in a "standalone franchise," something which obviously indicates that this solo outing won't be a one-off. There are bound to be other gaps in her history that Marvel Studios could fill in (including those early years), while there's always a chance she could even be resurrected somehow.
After all, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has now introduced alternate timelines and realities, so there's bound to be a way Black Widow's story can continue beyond just this one film.
Another possibility is that Yelena Belova will become the new Black Widow and that she will lead this "standalone franchise" instead. We'll have to wait and see, but the possibilities are seemingly endless and it's definitely exciting to think about what could come next for the character.

"When something huge explodes and all the pieces are landing, you have that moment of stillness where you don’t know what to do next — that’s the moment that she’s in," Scarlett Johansson says.
"In that moment, you actually have to face yourself."
"In a way, he’s a super-soldier, but he’s also a very complicated guy," David Harbour says of Russia's answer to Captain America, Red Guardian.
"He has a lot of flaws, a lot of idiosyncrasies. It’s a very rich character." That beard is pretty damn impressive, eh?
It hasn't been released online but those attending Comic-Con were treated to a fight scene between Black Widow and Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova. However, it sounds like these two have a sister-like relationship and will actually be allies in the movie.
O.T. Fagbenle describes his character Mason as "a fixer" who comes from Natasha's past and may have feelings for her. "It’s a bit of a complex relationship with Natasha because obviously, ostensibly we have this kind of business transaction, but I think there’s a little romantic frisson." The question is, could he be playing Taskmaster? That would certainly be a pretty interesting twist.
Rachel Weisz's is reportedly playing Malena in the movie,
"a seasoned spy and assassin," who has
"been cycled through the Black Widow Red Room [program] five times at this point in her life." She also plays a key role in some sort of experiement in the film.
