Fast & Furious star Tyrese Gibson is a unique character, and frequently makes headlines for his quirky behaviour on social media. Recently, the Morbius star was fooled into thinking Martin Scorsese had given the Living Vampire's movie a glowing review, and he now appears to be campaigning for the role of Blade (which has already been taken by Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali).
The context behind the post isn't clear, but the comments section is already full of people wondering who is going to break it to Gibson that he won't be getting the chance to play the Daywalker.
It's always possible he's just having fun and pointing out the similar facial hair, while he might also be rooting for a team-up between Blade and his Morbius character Agent Simon Stroud. Either way, that won't be happening; despite Gibson's claims that Sony's movie took place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the critically panned blockbuster is part of Sony's Marvel Universe.
The belief is that much of Gibson's role in Morbius was cut as he talked beforehand about having superpowers and doing a lot of action scenes. While we caught a glimpse of his cybernetic hand, it was a total non-factor in the movie we watched in theaters, a sign, perhaps, his original role just didn't work.
