From the announcement of Tom Holland's casting as Spider-Man, comic book fans have been eager to see their friendly neighbourhood vigilante make his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Captain America: Civil War. Several people who have seen the film, such as Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn, have praised Holland's performance and declared him the best Spider-Man yet. With the latest trailer, audiences are now able to see Spidey in action. Towards the end of the trailer, the vigilante makes an appearance during an Iron Man and Captain America showdown.

The new Spider-Man's look is very similar to the classic Silver Age costume of the comics. Specifically, one can notice similarities to the designs by artists Steve Ditko and John Romita Sr. Sam Raimi's film trilogy depicted a costume with silver-colored webbing and large angular eye lenses. Meanwhile, the Marc Webb reboot featured an outfit that adhered closer to the comics' version, complete with web-shooters and dark sunglass lenses for the mask. This version was noticeably different with track shoes being used as boots. By contrast, the MCU Spider-Man is closer to Lee and Ditko's version, especially regarding the black webbing pattern of the suit and rounded shape of the eye lenses.

While there is no webbing under the arms, the red-and-blue color scheme is spot-on, and the mask's eyes are nearly identical to the comics' depiction. Furthermore, the lenses appear to adjust themselves, hinting at the possibilty that Tony Stark could have designed the costume and mask,  thus allowing for flexibility and movement. It remains to be seen if he did help Peter with this suit or if he creates another costume for him during the course of the film.

Captain America: Civil War is scheduled to released on May 6, 2016.

@Dwise1 - Agreed. I like the previous version of the costume- both the Raimi and Webb versions were interesting. Sure, some fans might criticize them, but they're just different takes on the character.

I was especially pleased to see the rounded lenses- in the first Raimi film, they were a bit too angular.

well im kinda tilted
is Holland even in the suit is there even a new spiderman suit
becuse if it is all cgi like it looks like it blowz i really really hope it only partly cgi and he actuly got a suit
MrFantastic
MrFantastic - 3/10/2016, 11:00 AM
@n1Ro - I believe he is in the suit.

Holland has shown his gymnastic skills on the Internet before, and he's a trained dancer. So I have a feeling they're going for a mixture of practical effects with some CGI. If they want it to look organic, it needs to be a real person in the costume.

n1Ro - 3/10/2016, 10:53 AM
@PantherKing - you think they didn't even made him a reall suit ?
MrFantastic
MrFantastic - 3/10/2016, 10:55 AM
@n1Ro - I have a feeling Tony might help Peter- either with this suit or come up with another costume altogether. Though it probably won't be the Iron Spider version (which would still be cool).

n1Ro - 3/10/2016, 10:59 AM
@MrFantastic - tbh it is not what i was asking
i was asking if u think this suit is all cgi or partly ?

PantherKing
PantherKing - 3/10/2016, 11:00 AM
@n1Ro - they probably did but the colors or the cgi on the suit feels off.
MrFantastic
MrFantastic - 3/10/2016, 11:16 AM
@n1Ro - I think it is real. Probably some CGI, though.

And you have a point- this could very well be the suit that Stark designs for Peter.

Some of you people behave like babies in the comments. This guy is giving his interpretation of the costume and nothing more. He has the RIGHT do that. He isn't copying anyone else's articles or anything that is blatantly against the rules, so chill the [frick] out on him. By behaving like children, you are making the internet a place ONLY for children ...which is not what this amazing advancement was made for. Also, we have a guy putting himself out there and writing an article; taking a chance to put his thoughts out there and maybe he is trying to learn. How do you repay him for that effort? By calling him a [frick]er, a [foo foo], and a twat? What self-entitled brats are you to treat ANYONE like that who is clearly putting an effort into something? Moreso, what articles have you tried to write; how have you put yourself out there to the same criticism that you are unleashing on him? Or do you not write and just wait to attack anyone who writes something that you might not think is up to your "standards?"

Comment sections like these make me [frick]ing sick to my stomach on how immature this site can get.

@Objectivelybiased - Thank you for being the voice of reason! Much appreciated. Believe me, some people do act petty and immature towards others- human nature.

Side note- I find it amusing that you are providing logic and reason, yet your user name happens to be Objectivelybiased. Interesting. Lol!
