According to The Coventry Telegraph who as I reported earlier this week ran a poll of who fans would most like to see portray Captain America (a poll in which Jensen Ackles won by a HUGE majority!) another up-and-coming US actor has shown interest in portraying the star spangled Avenger...

Davis Anderson, who has lived in Los Angeles for almost two years, where he is studying acting, and will appear in the 2010 release Caravaggio: The Search, a comedy drama about the tortured life of the Italian artist.



Anderson said: "I realise Marvel are on the casting prowl for Captain America and who better to play the role of Captain America than an unknown such as myself. I am physically fit, a patriot of the USA and believe I would be right for the role. Of course, I am an unknown actor so Marvel fans might question the choice at first, but I think they'd find I was perfect for them."

LEE: yeah, I should have put you down as the source for that pic, lol! In fact I will now!!! You watched Bloody Valentine yet? I gave it a chance and thought it was excellent-the 3D effects were great and even though the picture was distorted in places because of the 3D specs the HD quality was awesome! And Jensen Ackles was brilliant in it of course!!!

SHAMAN: A few months ago, as much as I love that sketch-I thought thatAckles would be a terrible Cap but the more Ive thought about it and the more Supernatural episodes I have seen (I only started watching it a few months back) I see now that he is perfect for Cap!!!

JOSH @ I actually watched it last night, but fell asleep three quarters though, my own fault lol, was watching it about 3ish in the morning lol! Yeah, i don't know what everyones on about??? Its not bad by a long shot! Shite, its ten times better than that FRIDAY THE 13th remake! Its, cool coz VALENTINE don't take itself seriously, Horror Comedy really lol, well it felt like it! : D

I only got to see it in 2D though, man that eye popping out must've been funny! Well not for the guy lol.

I also really do not care if this unknown is Italian or not. If he can play Cap then that shouldn't matter. Bale is not American and he played Batman well.

LEE: id hate to fall out with you man but i think i would have to fight you for Jaime King, lol!

The 3D was indeed great ESPECIALLY in places like the eye popping! But even without, the film was great-especially the ending! (which I wont ruin for you but trust me its awesome!!!) People have gone on saying that the story and acting was crap but I didnt have a problem with either!!!

Not sure why, but its not a big deal who plays capt to me.

Of course a good actor, but I do think he can be an unknown, but somebody in the movie have to have credential.

If Sam jack plays a large roll in it and maybe a cameo of Stark...It should work.

But thus far, all the comic movies that work great have star power. (minus watchmen).

thegreek- Actually no, this guy isn't bigger than Ackles. People think Ackles is short cause Jared Padalecky (his brother on supernatural) is like 7 feet tall. In reality, Ackles is over 6 feet tall. More than enough to fill Cap's boots. PLUS, he's the only one of all the contenders who actually gave us a Captain America similar performance and on a regular basis at that! If you take away the jackass and shovenism away from his character in supernatural, HE IS CAPTAIN AMERICA!!!

I agree with ironknight27, I say Pitt all the way! Jensen's too young, and he has this wise-ass smirk on his face all the time... I just hold apprehension that he would have the range to pull it off. I don't know, maybe he could. We'll have to see if Pitt turns it down. ;-)
