Don Cheadle On CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR: "It Does Look Bad For Rhodey"

In a recent interview, actor Don Cheadle spoke on Captain America: Civil War, and revealed what he thought about Rhodey's condition in the trailers, and the reaction the fans had towards it! Check it out!

While watching the first few Captain America: Civil War trailers, were you one of the many fans to go, "Man, I hope the Russo Bros. don't kill of War Machine in this film!" If you were, actor Don Cheadle, who's played James Rhodes since Iron Man 2, heard your concerns and provided a response. "I'm on Twitter, so I've gotten a few people going, 'Rhodey better not be dead, son. I'm going to be so mad.' Or 'I'm done with this thing if Rhodey's dead,'" Cheadle said to the New York Daily News. "But that's cool, I like that people get so upset about it. I like that in a Marvel movie people are able to evoke such emotion."

Cheadle also spoke on how it felt to re-unite with Robert Downey Jr. for the fourth time (Iron Man 2, Iron Man 3, and Avengers: Age of Ultron). "Making those Marvel movies is always so interesting, because for Robert and I, once the face plate is down, (the computer programmers) most of the time take over." With this being a Captain America film, how much will we see Rhodey and Stark together, aside from the epic fight scenes? According to Cheadle, not often. "So we're not often all together in the same place. This time, we have a couple of scenes where we're all together — a board room scene, at headquarters and out on the tarmac (for the film's signature battle)."

In the trailers, it looked as if a repulsor-type weapon (seemingly from Iron Man's suit?) struck down War Machine. If not that, the blast could have came from the Vision's Infinity Stone, or another un-revealed threat. Whatever it is that puts James Rhodes down for the count, Cheadle admits that it doesn't look too good. "It does look bad for Rhodey." What do you think? Hopefully that just means that Rhodes gets his ass handed to him. It would be a darn shame to see him pushing daisies.

@NightWatcher - I think you're pretty accurate when you mentioned Vision.

It's probably Scarlet Witch who takes control of Vision or Iron Man.

It'll be pathetic at this point if they really do kill him off. But if so, let it be. smh

Remember this concept art?

I'm pretty sure Rhodey will not die but become cyborg-like as in the comics.

It could be a situation where Vision is trying to hit some from team cap and the person gets out of the way, or cap redirects it with his shield, and it ends up hitting Rhodey. It doesn't have to be Scarlet Witch mind controlling him.

I don't think Rhodey dies, simply because if he did then they wouldn't show it. But since they did show it, I am 99.9999999999% sure that he makes it out of the movie still breathing.
