CAPTAIN AMERICA: NEW WORLD ORDER Rumored To Have Major X-MEN Connections

Some intriguing new rumors for Captain America: New World Order here, one of which claims that the fourth instalment in the franchise will have a major connection to Marvel Studios' X-Men reboot...

By MarkCassidy - Mar 30, 2023 06:03 PM EST

As filming continues on Captain America: New World Order in New York, we have some very interesting rumors courtesy of this week's episode of The Hot Mic with John Rocha and Jeff Sneider.

Some of these we have heard before, but we'd be more inclined to put stock in their accuracy coming from this source.

Sneider has heard that Red Hulk will appear in the movie (he doesn't know if it'll be Harrison Ford's General Ross doing the transforming, but it's a pretty safe bet), and that Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis Dreyfuss) will be working with five other villains to form the Serpent Society.

Their mission? To locate and extract a new kind of metal that's even more powerful than Vibranium.

Yeah, you know where this is going!

Sneider reckons this fourth instalment in the franchise will "have ties" to the X-Men, so we can only assume this metal is Adamantium (the unbreakable substance that's fused to Wolverine's bones).

He doesn't elaborate, but a previous rumor has suggested that the Celestial known as Tiamut, who was frozen mid-emergence at the end of Eternals, will be the source of the alloy.

What do you guys make of these (potential) plot details? Drop us a comment down below.

Despite all the talk of superhero fatigue and scandals, Marvel has the X-Men up their sleeve for their next set of billion dollar films!

@Forthas - I agree X-Men and Fantastic Four are Marvel's Blues Eyes White Dragon and Dark Magician!

@bigarcticyeti - Why???

@Forthas - If those properties are done well, they can get a lot of the audience back. Their recent track record isn’t the best, so the MCU needs to get better writers on board to make sure the X-Men’s debut has the impact it should.

@Forthas - This.
I think with the emergence of the X-Men and Gunn giving us an actual Superman that is recognizable and likeable, it’ll give CBMs that much needed second wind!

@Forthas - it could be a Jubilee-led team, with Jubilee being played by Bowen Yang.

@VictorAlonzo - That's an odd choice. Jubilee has such lame powers. Im not familiar with the entire catalogue of Xmen comics, but does she have a run where she was the leader?

Now we are cooking. New World order is looking to be a game changer for Marvel. It'll probably be the Winter Soldier/Civil War of Phase 5.

@TheRationalNerd - That sounds rational!

@TheRationalNerd - I hoping this and thunderbolts are really good and get this whole thing back on track

@TheRationalNerd -
It'll be complete and utter garbage.

They have Betty Ross, The Leader and a variety of other characters to reintroduce to the audience who have not had a focus in several years. Thunderbolt Ross has not really had any development since Civil War and a small cameo in Infinity War.

They also have to sell the audience on the new status quo, a lot of people did not watch TF&TWS and those that did generally disliked Sam Wilson vouching for an actual terrorist and having no real understanding of politics beyong "you have to do better Senator".

Then you have characters like Torres and Sabra who will have to be newly introduced, throwing in Hulk presumably because otherwise you are stripping Hulk's primary antagonist away from him. If Hulk is here you have to include Skaar because you set that up in She-Hulk and She-Hulk precedes this movie so ignoring him would be a problem. Then you have to factor in Zemo and U.S. Agent because you cannot simply ignore that TF&TWS set-up those characters to return.

Oh and if this remark is true the movie is going to have at minimum six villains with The Leader, Allegra and Allegra's team of five villains as the Serpent Society - all of this needs to be established, built-up and presumably all killed off if they aren't being used in Thunderbolts because that focuses around Allegra trying again with Sentry.

Then you have to factor in that it's being filmed right now during a period of massive upheaval behind the scenes, the primary VFX person has been fired and one of the key shareholders also. God help them the VFX are likely to look like absolute garbage unless it gets pushed back, especially as the VFX teams are STILL working on Captain Marvel 2.

It's going to be an absolute cluster[frick], especially as it'll be riding on anti-hype of the flop that will be Captain Marvel 2 which will potentially titanic any audience that still remains.

@Scarilian - I actually read this whole thing... and as much as I hate to admit it, I agree with alot of what you said.. and the worst part of the whole thing is the writers and director of this movie worked on TFaTWS which was dogshit and very disappointing so that makes me very skeptical. I hope I'm wrong but u make some good points

@TheRationalNerd - winter soldier was a better movie to me than civil war cause of how grounded it was. look like a regular action movie till the end and you remember it’sa marvel movie. Hell, the only time you saw the color red in it was basically Fury’s blood and cap in the end.

@MotherGooseUPus - There are a lot of things that are dogshit but don’t be too harsh. It disappointed you, sure, but saying the whole show is a turd is a bit much.

MotherGooseUPus - 3/31/2023, 7:41 AM
@SuperBatCap1 - yes, its harsh but maybe cuz my expectations were sooo high and i was sooo disappointed. only thing good in the show, to me, was bucky's redemption arc, which was done very well

I can imagine Genosha and Latveria as places of interest on President Ross's geopolitical map.

"I would love it if they could do the Genosha story justice."

They won't. Sokovia showed up, impacted AoU and Civil War and then was forgotten about, the accords being dissolved off-screen in She-Hulk after being used just as a plot device for Civil War to occur.

Remember the arms race to create Iron Man suits? The writers don't.
Remember how the Collector was collecting the Infinity Stones? The writers don't.
Remember the nine realms? The writer's don't.
Remember the blip? The writers don't.
Remember the Celestial in the ocean? The writers don't.
Remember the Celestial that was going to come back and wipe out Earth? The writers don't.
Remember White Vision? The writers don't.
Remember that Scarlet Witch was going to destroy the Earth? The writer's don't.
Remember the citadel of literal gods? The writer don't.

Every time they have a cool concept they just waste it or forget about it.

Please recast Jackman already. Every time he comes back everyone thinks he owns the role even more.
Scarilian

@Kurne -
They legally cannot. It's why the X-Men has not happened yet because up until around 2026 they are legally required to continue the contracts of the prior X-Men actors who signed on for additional films under the contract from Dark Pheonix.

@Kurne - He's not gonna be the MCUs official Wolverine. Deadpool 3 might be his actual last hurrah.

I thought Adamantium was a man-made alloy in the comics? Would kinda prefer that honestly over a "let's go mine this new, super rare even BETTER secret space metal."

Maybe they still need Vibranium or some new metal to make the alloy, but I really don't care to see even more films about fighting over another "magic metal" resource.

That being said, it would be nice for the MCU to do SOMETHING already with the giant Celestial corpse sticking out of the ocean...
