Stan Lee Wants to Play a Villain in Captain America

Legend in his own time, Stan "The Man" Lee says that he's tired of playing nice guys in his Marvel movie cameos!

What would a Marvel movie be without a cameo from Stan "The Man" Lee? According to Lee, it would be a huge flop, joking to MTV that "every movie producer realizes that the only reason people go to the movie is to see my cameo, so they dare not omit it."

Lee said that he has just finished shooting his cameo in Thor, and that he's looking forward to playing a different type of role in Captain America. That is, if the shoot comes back to the States for some of the filming.

"I really don't have time to go to England, but I think they might shoot some scenes here, so I'll get a chance to be in that one, too.

"I really don't know [which character I'll play in Captain America], because I don't know the script...[But] instead of always making me such a wonderful person, which I really I am, I wish they'd make me a villain, so I can exercise my acting chops."

Angelus@ no, i think that would be a part thats too evil even for Stan the man. Better leave someone like Mel Gibson to play someone as evil as former president Bush!

I wonder if he has some sort of clause in his contract with Marvel--the one that supposedly pays him $1 million a year for life--that stipulates he gets to cameo in every Marvel movie. I mean, it's kind of getting ridiculous. I remember the first time going, "Hey, cool, Stan Lee," but now...

The one I liked the best was when he drank the gamma-infected soda in The Incredible Hulk. Noinch!

Yeah, I've got nothing bad to say about Stan. Many of our favorites comic book characters wouldn't be around without him.

Plus, despite his bravado, he's actually a pretty nice, humble man. I met him last year and gave him "nerd homage" and he was like, "Oh, cut it out and drink your beer."

As much as I love Stan Lee (and hate how so many people seem to abuse him for wanting a cameo in movies based on characters we wouldnt even have without him) I think he should stick to the background rather than any big speaking parts! :P

Lee just wants attention (as usual). He had NOTHING to do with the creation of the character, yet he still tries to glom on! NOW will you people see 'The Man' for what he REALLY is - an arrogant, narcissistic old fart! Brent, your article should read "Legend in his own MIND..."

Perfect. He should play a Nazi.

They should have a shot panning over many German soldiers at attention, and have Stan playing a Colonel, and the soldier next to him looks at him and stares, Stan coldly looks back at him, and the soldier quickly looks forward.

Stan the Man is awesome!! But if he wants to have a villain cameo in Cap, make him an evil scientist in HYDRA! :D

@ Gmoney and Loganoneil you guys should show the guy some respect. he did a LOT more for comics than any other apart from Kirby and yeah he wasn't involved in the creation of captain america but his cameos in ALL marvel films are quite possibly some of my favorite parts!

that being said, i think he should play Hitler as well ha ha that would be hilarious

his a comic legend,i met him once in london comic store.
stood in line for two & half hours to get him to sign a hardcover book that cost £30 on the complete history of the marvel universe.this was way back in the late 80s early 90s.

Stan Lee's first actual writing assaignment at Timely comics was on Captain America #3. It is also where he came up with his pen name "Stan Lee" rather than using his real name Stanle Leiber. So without Cap one could say that there would be no Stan Lee.
