Belated Thoughts on CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER's First Trailer

I've been meaning to do this for a while but, I went down to New Orleans for my Aunts wedding. Anyway, let's get this going. First up: Thoughts on the Captain America trailer. There will be humor

As with any Marvel film, there will be humor. One of the best parts of Captain America: The First Avenger (I still say is the best Marvel solo film) is that there is humor but it felt natural and there was the right amount needed. The humor in The Winter Soldier seems darker if "Well, all the guys in my barber shop quartet are dead so, no" says anything. Not typical Marvel humor but then again, neither will the final product of the film more than likely.

People will get hurt

Many people haven't seem to figure out who this person is. Some thought for whatever reason that it is Falcon. It's definitely Nick Fury and I can almost guarantee you that it's from his encounter from The Winter Soldier. People will get hurt. I would like to know how badly hurt, Black Widow is here

Needless to say, Captain America: The Winter Soldier will appropriately be dark. I still say that it'll be, Marvel's "The Dark Knight" but, that's just me.

Here is my favorite part of the entire trailer. This pretty much sums up with this movie is going to be, a straight up war movie.

"This isn't freedom, this is fear" sums up the entirety of the movie in my opinion. Cap doesn't know what is the right and wrong of this new era due to the grey area, the violence and terrorism in the world, etc. It's this line that even sums up the Phase Two films. Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, to a degree also Guardians of the Galaxy and I feel most definitely, Age of Ultron. Wouldn't you agree?

Falcon takes flight

One of the most talked about moments in the entire trailer, The Falcon not only shown but actually jumping off of the helicarrier and taking flight. This is where people would have to for sure suspend disbelief if they haven't already. I think Sam Wilson will be a very interesting character but how much involvement he will have remains to be seen though. This is just trailer number one after all.

The money shot of money shots for now

This is where you know shit just got real. No one on film has caught, Caps shield before. The Winter Soldier turning around to grab his shield because he knows Cap so well that it is predictable shows that Cap is in for some trouble. Plus, I think that sort of connection is what will make Cap discovering The Winter Soldier's true identity so dramatic. I personally can't wait to see that dynamic.

Well, that's all I got. This is still my personally my most anticipated solo film yet and I think it could definitely be not only one of Marvel's best movies, their best solo movie but one of the best superhero movies. Okay, maybe not top ten but I bet it'll be up there. Comment below with your thoughts.

Actually, I think top 10 is definitely possible. I have The First Avenger in my top 10 right now, and this one has the potential to be better. And yes, TFA has been my favorite solo film so far too.

Good write up, though I am curious? Will anybody go into the theatre not knowing who Bucky is lol?

For sure that is Fury injured in the hospital room

But could that be Maria Hill walking up to the window where Cap and BW are standing?

I loved this trailer and have high hopes for the movie, but I hope to god it doesn't turn into a Comedy Central fest like Thor The Dark World did.

Yeah I was wondering the same thing. They already showed Bucky's face in the sneak peek in front of Thor. I hope they DON'T do more of that.

And I really hope the press don't ruin it for the general audience.

Why does everyone think humor in superhero movies is bad? I blame Nolan.

The trailer for Captain America: The Winter Soldier was the only one that got me excited for a Phase II movie of MCU. As for the humor, there is nothing wrong with that if it is like The Avengers, Iron Man and not like Iron Man 3, and in a lesser extent Thor: The Dark World.

There appears to be a very political tone going on in the trailer. With these lines in particular,

"I thought the punishment usually came after the crime."

and,

"This isn't freedom... this is fear."

The world is heading in that direction. The whole idea of an Orwellian society in which "security" is the government's top priority. I hope this movie really deals with that theme pretty well.

I thought the trailer was great. It didnt reveal too much but it gave you some hints as to what to expect in the film.

I think at the end of this film Steve Roger's will leave SHIELD and live his own life.

I loved the trailer for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. For some reason my fave moment is when the Winter Soldier throws the knife in the air and catches it in his other hand then swings at Steve with it. I bought a knife just so i can try that.
