CONFIRMED: There Is No New Marvel One-Shot with CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER

More sad Marvel news! For the anticipated DVD/Blu-ray release of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Marvel Studios will NOT be developing a new One-Shot short film. Check it out after the jump!

What started as rumored way for Marvel Studios to cheaply introduce its unknown characters to audiences has now become what we know as Marvel One-Shots, which are creative short film extensions of the Marvel Cinematic Universe released as Blu-ray special features. Considering we've had new One-Shots with the home release of every Marvel Studios movie since Thor (2011), it was a surprise to see the title of a new one missing in the recent home release announcement for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Well, both Entertainment Weekly and Marvel's @AgentM, aka Ryan Penagos, have confirmed that it was no mistake and that Marvel will not be developing a One-Shot for the Joe and Anthony Russo-directed movie, which hits Blu-ray/DVD on September 9.

There is no word on why there will not be a new follow-up to Drew Pearce's fun All Hail The King One-Shot, but EW recalls Marvel executives declaring that
"they might bring a temporary halt to the One-Shots if they didn’t have a strong story idea or their full focus was needed on the feature film pipeline." It may just be the latter considering all of what has been going on with Ant-Man recently, however, that didn't come to light until last week. Anyhow, hopefully we will have another Marvel One-Shot with the eventual home release of Guardians of the Galaxy... What do you think?

Hmm, it would've be cool to see a one shot for Doctor Strange (seeing that his name was mentioned in the film) but they don't even have the casting down yet.

This is retarded. They've been doing them for so long, and there are many more possible storied for them! I would have loved to see one following a random Nova Corps dude. That would be a fun way to introduce them. Or a Warriors Three short would be a great way to expand their characters.

Maybe they were going to do an Antman one-shot and with Edgar leaving they can't get it done in time.

We need a teaser instead, possibly for the Age of Ultron or even Ant-Man. BTW, JoeMomma needs a fitness trainer.

Damn. If that's true, i'm going to be bummed. I really looked forward to those. They were like my Christmas stocking when I was younger. It was the first thing I opened. There wasn't a lot of important stuff in it, but it was a lot of fun anyway.

I was expecting something asgardian related

Like Loki trying hide his identity while being king

Or the warrior 3 having suspension of their King

..... Oh well :(

Marvel's getting lazy as of late. This One-Shot should have involved Thor characters like Sif and the Warriors Three.

I'm more concerned with them fleshing out the Phase 3 properties than I am with a new one shot

Agents of Shield
The Agent Carter Series
The Defenders Netflix Shows

I'd trade all three of these projects for a Black Panther movie honestly

maybe because D'Espisito is one of the other candidates for Ant Man and he normally directs the One Shots?
