When Marvel released a piece of artwork featuring Captain America wielding a gun during last years Comic Con, there was some concern amongst fans that the character would be based a little more on the Ultimate version rather than the classic 616 universe. Since then we've seen a stuntman with the holster as well as an action figure, but as the following photos show, Marvel are clearly using that leaked concept art from a while back on the upcoming products which will tie into the movie...you'll notice however that they've made one final adjustment to the suit as you'll see on Cap's right leg.
Not Earth shattering to some of you I know, but this is the first time we've seen official pictures of his costume with the new addition of a holster and a belt/boots that are more red than brown. In my opinion, it's pretty damned cool.
Captain Australia (who provided us with those photos and the following information) also went on to tell me that as well as this digital camera, Marvel literally had dozens of
Captain America: The First Avenger themed products they were promoting including iPad and iPhone covers. And thanks to a tip from my good friend
RealIrOnMaN of
spidermedia.ru we have some pictures of the latter.
Is it me, or are those wings slightly different to the ones we've seen in the past? Anyway, thanks again to
CaptainAustralia for sharing these images with us. If you have anything like this that you want to share with us at CBM, then click on the "Contact Me" link at the top left hand side of this page!
Captain America: The First Avenger is set to be released in 3D on July 22, later this year!
