US ARMY Issues Statement On Whether CAPTAIN AMERICA Is Entitled To Back Pay

Being frozen in ice and waking up 66 years later means you're the longest serving enlisted solider in the history of the US army. That distinction comes with a little more than just prestige and honor.

Who knew Steve Rogers had so much in common with Fry from Futurama? Both fell asleep in frozen/suspended animation and woke up in a futuristic world where they are millionaires.

Responding to a reddit thread, official Army spokesman Wayne Hall told The Tribunist , "If Capt. Steve Rogers (aka Captain America) were not a fictional character and the circumstances surrounding his disappearance and recovery actually real, he may actually be entitled to receive back pay.  However, a wide variety of variables would have to be taken into consideration to actually calculate the true amount of back pay to which he would be entitled to receive."  The reddit thread speculated that Cap would be entitled to roughly $3 million dollars but Hall theorized that number might actually be higher because any potential promotions would have to be factored into Cap's back pay.

What do you think Cap would spend his new fortune on?

But he's not a real Captain because he was never commissioned. Did he even go to college? If Steve Rogers is a real Captain then I guess Julius Erving is a real doctor.

@blackandyellow - Naw back in WWII your high ranking person died you took charge if your next in line. Then which ever officer deemed you worthy gave you that rank. During times of war there is no commission or college if your alive got experience and still fighting your promoted.

@Matador - LOL no. He wouldn't just skip over the ranks of 2LT and 1LT even if he received a field commission.
