CAPTAIN MARVEL: Clark Gregg Confirms He'll Be Playing A Younger Version Of Agent Coulson In The Movie

Well, it doesn't appear as if Agent Coulson will be resurrected in the present day because comments from the actor confirm we'll actually be spending time with a younger version of the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent.

Tonight, fans will have to bid farewell to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. until summer 2019 but Clark Gregg will be reprising the role of Agent Phil Coulson before then in Captain Marvel. As expected, though, the character won't be undergoing some sort of miraculous resurrection because the actor has confirmed in a new interview that we'll actually be meeting a much younger version of the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent.

"He’s a bit of a new guy in S.H.I.E.L.D.," Gregg says about where we find Coulson in the highly anticipated release. "He’s a lot younger. It’s the earliest we will have seen him, so when he says, ‘Mr. Stark, this isn’t my first rodeo’ in Iron Man, this is maybe the rodeo he’s talking about." Also in the video below, the actor reiterates reports about Brie Larson's Carol Danvers being immensely powerful.

Are you excited to spend time with Coulson before he crossed paths with Iron Man back in 2008 in this 1990s set adventure? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

I still want to see him return in the present day movies. Avengers 4 would be a perfect time to return.
