Tonight, fans will have to bid farewell to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. until summer 2019 but Clark Gregg will be reprising the role of Agent Phil Coulson before then in Captain Marvel. As expected, though, the character won't be undergoing some sort of miraculous resurrection because the actor has confirmed in a new interview that we'll actually be meeting a much younger version of the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent.
"He’s a bit of a new guy in S.H.I.E.L.D.," Gregg says about where we find Coulson in the highly anticipated release. "He’s a lot younger. It’s the earliest we will have seen him, so when he says, ‘Mr. Stark, this isn’t my first rodeo’ in Iron Man, this is maybe the rodeo he’s talking about." Also in the video below, the actor reiterates reports about Brie Larson's Carol Danvers being immensely powerful.
Are you excited to spend time with Coulson before he crossed paths with Iron Man back in 2008 in this 1990s set adventure? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
