CAPTAIN MARVEL Will Reportedly Be An Even Bigger Game Changer Than WONDER WOMAN

We know that Captain Marvel is going to be a huge movie but if a new report is to be believed, it will be an even bigger game changer for the superhero genre than last year's Wonder Woman. Check it out!

Captain Marvel will take place in the midst of the Kree/Skrull War and that alone makes it noteworthy for fans of the comic books. Throw in the fact that it's going to tie into Avengers 4 and is the first female-led movie set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and it's fair to say we should all be counting down the seconds until this one is released. However, it could be an even bigger deal than we thought.

According to a new report, we should expect Captain Marvel to be an even bigger game changer than Wonder Woman was last summer. In fact, it's said that the Marvel Studios movie will "blow it away."

"Though Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War were all different and original movies, nothing is going to be as different and original as Captain Marvel. The upcoming movie from Anna Bolden and Ryan Fleck is going to change the Marvel Cinematic Universe and give us something no one has seen before – and something that no fan is expecting.
 
"Wonder Woman was obviously considered a very important movie for women, but Captain Marvel is going to blow it away. It will completely redefine superhero movies – similar to how Marvel Studios changed everything back in 2008. If you thought Infinity War was a game-changer, you’re not ready for what’s coming in Captain Marvel."

It's best to take this with a pinch of salt for now but given Marvel's stellar track record, it's not outside the realm of possibility that Captain Marvel will end up topping Wonder Woman (which is no easy feat but given how huge the movie is clearly going to be, it could happen). Wow, that's quite interesting. This makes me even more excited. But for a film that is drawing inspiration from the greatest action film ever, Terminator 2, I'd expect nothing less!!

I'll believe it when I see it. Marvel Studios could have capitalized and released their first female lead movie on 2017 as it was first slated back in 2014 if they hadn't move too much for other films and they let WB with their DCEU steal the spotlight from them in that regard with a nuanced film about a heroine that realized there are no heroes or villains in war, that the color grey exists and she needed to learn that.

MCU is amazing but they shouldn't focus on trying to outdo WW, they should just deliver the best story for Carol.

@AT3374 - the quote isn't really taking that away from WW, no one can deny the importance of that film for that reason. All the quote is saying, at least from my perspective, is that CM is going to be a larger game-changer and really redefine superhero films.

@kaethar - We're talking from the perspective of it being a game changer. Now after wonder woman, females in superhero movies are becoming more of a thing then they ever were previously. That is HISTORIC! Captain Marvel could make everyone forget about how good Infinity War and The Dark Knight were and it still can't get over the fact that WW jump started females in superhero movies. It will always be considered the quintessential female superhero movie no matter what.

@Origame - But the Captain Marvel movie was announced prior to Wonder Woman... so this movie would have happened either way. WW didn't jump-start women as leads in superhero movies, it's the first really successful one though, I'll give it that.

@kaethar - it doesn't matter what was announced first. Especially since they pushed it back for Spider-Man. What matters is which came first in a time of no successful female lead superhero movies. It really doesn't matter what happens with captain marvel now. Nothing will top the cultural impact of ww. They already had their cultural milestone with black panther but captain marvel will always be viewed as the female superhero after wonder woman.

@Origame - It looks like you're desperately trying to cling to the DCEU's relevance. Wonder Woman is just another female-lead superhero movie in a long line of them, it didn't do anything especially unique. Its success is unique, but so is Avatar's success and that movie's impact didn't stay relevant either. It's only the truly great movies that will be remembered in time.

@Origame - You'd be wrong, I am a woman. But I've also been a comic-book fan for years, I'm not a bandwagoner (or a DC fangirl) who sees Wonder Woman as the second coming. What's relevant in pop culture changes from one week to the next. Everyone thought Jack Nicholson was the quintessential Joker, until Heath Ledger's Joker came along. Young people today don't remember the 80's Batman movies - they do remember the Dark Knight trilogy.

Your claim that Wonder Woman is the be-all and end-all of female-led superhero movies for no other reason than it being popular for a moment in time is simply faulty logic. And in stating this you are denigrating other female superheroes, if female-lead superhero movies can't be better than Wonder Woman then female-lead superhero movies are doomed. Quite frankly I have a hard time believing YOU are a woman, you seem to have an agenda to prevent other female heroes from getting their movies because "there can only be one." Sounds like (a certain type of) fanboy logic to me.
