THE MARVELS Reportedly Casts South Korean Actor Park Seo-joon In Mysterious Role

South Korean actor Park Seo-joon has reportedly joined the cast of The Marvels in an undisclosed role. StarNews Korea broke the story, but the news has since been picked up by several larger outlets. The trades have yet to confirm, however.

The 32-year-old actor/recording artist is a prolific star in South Korea, rising to fame after appearances in TV shows such as Kill Me, Heal Me, She Was Pretty, Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth, and Fight for My Way. He also has a small role in recent Academy Award-winner, Parasite. Seo-joon is said to be "scheduled to leave for the United States in the second half of this year" to begin working on the Marvel Studios project.

A recent Phase 4 preview revealed that the sequel is officially titled The Marvels. Plot details are still under wraps (you can check out a vague logline here), but we do know that Ms. Marvel star Iman Vellani will make her big-screen debut as Kamala Khan, and WandaVision's Teyonah Parris will reprise the role of Monica Rambeau. British actress Zawe Ashton (Fresh Meat, Velvet Buzzsaw) is also on board as the main villain.

Candyman reboot helmer Nia DaCosta will direct from a script by WandaVision writer Megan McDonnell. The Marvels is set to fly into theaters on November 11, 2022.

Mehhhh. I just wanna skip through this phase, get to F4 and X-Men. Would ANYONE prefer a CM sequel over either of those films? "Oh its a team movie trip! It'd be different if-" shaddup. Would ya rather see a CM2 Movie or Wolverine? Storm? Daredevil? Heck, I'd rather see a "What The--?!" movie over Captain Marvel deuce. They can get allll the silliness out of the way. Let the Wayans go full idiotic & parody everything! Co-produced by Jordan Peele, with cameo/script assists by "the screen rant" dude and Nando for good measure. Until then- Throw me a time stone from outta that junk drawer! ... Eh, I'll go in my corner and grumble... Penny, penny.

Petitioning for us to put a hold on all Captain Marvel 2 articles for at least 2 months so we can give people time to come up with better material

Made a similar request in 2019 when the 'Captain Karen' stuff got run into the ground after about 72 hours. The takes just need to be put in rice for a bit

@tripttwe - Frankly, I don't think the X-men should be a part of the MCU.

@tripttwe - you know what, I guess Feige is reluctantly to do X men in this time period and you might have to wait another 15 years for Feige to revive full X men. he might use some few characters (I bet Storm, wolverine, or even Beast) to become a supporting role in future MCU movie. so you should skip all the marvel sequels or get some sleep pod and set it to 15 years.

@Chewtoy - using that logic, one could say Spider Man shouldn't be in Civil War since ASM sucked. Not a good enough reason IMO.

@tripttwe - yeah, because he thought that there's a lot of character outside the team X-Men is much interesting to shell out.

Does the source actually say “mysterious”, or is this just editorializing? Because it could absolutely be a small part.
