A few of days ago, the internet went nuts at the rumor that there was a private screening of Zack Snyder’s upcoming film Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and that the reception was so good it got a standing ovation.

Not only that but Warner Bros. was so impressed with Ben Affleck’s portrayal of Batman that now they are going to renegotiate Ben Affleck’s deal to extend to 3 solo Batman films.

Well according to John Campea from Collider Movie Talk, this may not have happened. John Campea pointed out that while it is still possible the screening did occur, his Warner Bros. contact had denied such a screening.

This would not only debunks the screening for the movie but also the rumor of a Batman trilogy. Take this news for what it is as nothing has been officially confirmed yet.

Ben Affleck writing/directing a solo Batman movie is pretty much confirmed. The trilogy part is rumor.

Campea is a prick and his sources are always bullshit.
But the rumor is dumb by itself. The movie is not even close to be finished. Any screening would have bad effects and unfinished edit. There's no way a movie in that stage gets an "standing ovation" unless the room is full of WB employees.

But if true, then amazing, we'll get a great movie

Who cares? They're gonna make a trilogy of Batman films eventually once the first one makes a billion dollars.

@abary wouldn't be so sure on that. A. Ben Affleck is in his 40s and staying in super hero shape places a huge strain on the body. A trilogy plus all of his other DC commitments would require him to be in batman shape pretty much non stop for the next 10 years which I doubt he wants to do. B. He's a busy director, screenwriter, and actor and he has a ton of other projects he wants to do.

@Bulldawg2014
You make it seem like they have to have Affleck play Batman if a trilogy ever happened.
Bulldawg2014
Bulldawg2014 - 8/11/2015, 9:03 AM
@pasto the implication of the trilogy is that WB wanted more of Ben Affleck's batman. That does require him in the role. Sure they can recast but the goal in a situation like that is to at least attempt to create a little bit of distance between the performances.

Everybody knows Collider provides spin for the studios. Move along. Nothing to see here.
