COMICS: DC REBIRTH To Reveal Joker's True Name

It seems Batman's time aboard Metron's Mobius chair will bear fruit in an upcoming issue of DC Comics' Justice League. Geoff Johns is writing the issue while Jason Fabok provides the art.

Back in Justice League #42, Batman gained control of Metron's Mobius chair, a device of the New Gods which allows the person sitting upon it to have infinite knowledge.  One of the first questions Batman asked was what was Joker's true name? The answer seemed to surprise even Batman.  Scott Snyder's Batman: Endgame, recently delivered a story which painted Gotham's Clown Prince of Crime as an immortal, similar to Vandal Savage and Ra's al Ghul, thanks to a mysterious element known as Dionysium (the Lazarus Pit is a corrupted form of Dionysium).  Despite mounting evidence, Batman refused to believe Joker's story of immortality. However, did the answer from the Mobius chair confirm Joker's story? We'll find out in Justice League #50.

Joker, since he apparently might be immortal and centuries old.

I am a firm believer that some stories just don't need to be told.

@Cles - True but we live in a society where everyone wants to know EVERYTHING. They need to have things explained in detail.

And if they don't like the story, they change it.

@PrincessLeather - That is so very sadly true.

Joker is a character that works very well be because you don't know his true name. Taking the mystery away doesn't make for a better story or character, but instead the opposite.

Bittersweet, but, I'm still anticipating it.

Of course they are. Nothing is sacred anymore I swear...
"The mysteriousness is what makes him so amazing?.... ah, who cares. It'll sell tons of copies and that's all I care about!"

"That's not possible" - Yeah, better not be.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - I really hope that's Bruce's response because even a chair that has infinite knowledge has no idea who the joker is

Joker is like hot dogs.
Better to not know where it came from.

He could turn out to be a Wayne from centuries ago. Seems like a plausible combination of factors that could elicit that response from Bruce.

@SweatyHands - Kind of similar to the Batman RIP story, in which Dr. Hurt was Thomas Wayne from an alternate timeline.

Makes it more of an intriguing story.....

It's obviously Bruce Wayne from another world where his insanity made him Joker instead of Batman.

@HeyZeusKreesto - that's the only thing I'd even remotely be interested in. It could explain why they both seemingly can't exist without the other.

With that said I hope they reveal that the reason batman says "that's impossible" is because even the chair doesn't know who the joker really is

@Mick808 - That's how I would actually like it to play out. Part of what makes Joker so great is that he has no definitive origin story and just came out of nowhere. If they actually say he's an existing character, I'll be pretty disappointed.
