DC REBIRTH's DARK NIGHTS: METAL #1 Preview Released; DC Slashes Retail Price

Advance orders for DC Comics' Dark Nights: Metal #1 have been so high, the comic book publisher has decided to show thanks for the fan support by lowering the price from $4.99 to $3.99.

Dark Nights: Metal, from Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo launches on August 16.  Below, you can find a 7-pg preview which focuses on Capullo's art.  There's no dialogue but it looks as if the alternate dimension the Justice League are investigating ultimately leads them to Mongul and the War World arena.  It seems that a child prisoner (either Superman' son, Jon Kent or Billy Batson) is what's forcing the League to fight in Mongul's gladiator games.

DC recently acknowledged that pre-orders for Metal have exceeded their expectations and so the publisher is lowering the priceline for the series.  While the first issue will remain $4.99, issues two through six of the miniseries will now retail for $3.99.

DC's SVP of Sales & Trade Marketing John Cunningham stated, "Orders for Dark Days: The Forge and The Casting have exceeded our expectations, and we're on a similar track for Metal #1.  That's allowing us to decrease the price of the remaining issues of Metal, which means customers can buy the whole series for five dollars less than before."

I haven't read The Forge or Casting but I'll definitely be picking this up.

I wish Marvel would consider bringing their price down by $1. That'd really go a long way.

God 5 bucks for a normal comic book. I am glad I got out of buying single issue comics they are just to freaking expensive. They were still mostly in the 3 dollar range when I was still buying comics but adding on another 2 dollars per comic. That would have bankrupted me especially in the hayday where I could have 12-15 titles I was reading a month.

Thankfully, Snyder won't touch anything that concerns DC's Rebirth and its mysteries, that's a privilege that only Geoff has and gives.
But...this story DOES feature "a Joker" and he seems to be...aware of some stuff...It's kinda big if you ask me, one could take this as a clue or some shit!
PING PING PING PING!

Capullo's art, Miki's inks, & FCO's colors in a Justice League story is everything I've ever wanted.

Hopefully Scott's story is great because while I love his Batman run, I haven't been impressed by his All-Star Batman run.
