As well as writing animated movies like Superman: Man of Tomorrow and Batman: The Long Halloween, Tim Sheridan has penned comic books like Teen Titans and Shazam! for DC Comics. Alongside Geoff Johns and Jeremy Adams, he'll next write Flashpoint Beyond, a series that takes us back to a timeline we all thought The Flash erased when he rewrote the DC Universe in 2011.
In the event, the Thomas Wayne Batman will be investigating why his timeline still exists, and last Wednesday's issue #0 saw him go to desperate measures to try and make things right.
Speaking to us about writing DC Showcase - The Losers, Tim dropped some exciting hints about what to expect from the first couple of issues, promising we'll see more of Wonder Woman and Aquaman. As you may recall, the war between Themyscira and Atlantis had laid waste to the world in the original Flashpoint series, and it sounds like we should expect to revisit that conflict in a big way here.
"Oh man, I am so excited for people to get their hands on Flashpoint Beyond issues one through six," the writer teased. "I mean, #0 - written by Geoff Johns - is such a good kick-off and essential reading that gets you into the story. Let me tell you, issue #1 is coming, and if you know anything about the original series, expect some fun stuff with Wonder Woman and Aquaman."
"We’ll tease that and say I can’t wait for people to read it because it’s a lot of fun," Tim continued. "Issue #2 follows close behind. There’s some fun and weird stuff that happens in issue #2."
You can read what Adams recently told us about the fallout from issue #0 by clicking here, but it's fair to say Flashpoint Beyond is shaping up to be an amazing, crazy ride. We never expected to return to this timeline, and after Batman's shocking meeting with the Barry Allen of his world, we can't wait to see what will happen when this twisted Dark Knight takes aim at Aquaman and Wonder Woman.
DC Showcase: Constantine - The House of Mystery arrives on Digital & Blu-ray on May 3.
