Does Guillermo del Toro confirm a shared universe with DC?

With the Justice League Dark script confirmed to be handed in last week, Guillermo del Toro drops the "Shared Universe" term

Last week in an In an interview with Forbes, Del Toro confirmed the script’s completion and status

Here’s an excerpt from the Forbes article:

“Today [Nov. 25], the completed screenplay for Dark Universe officially went to weekend reads at Warner Bros. The studio’s reactions to the script will be coming back in a few days, and the film could take another step toward production if Warner has a favorable opinion of what they see on the page.”

Now in an interview with COLLIDER, Del Toro throws out the term "Shared Universe" when describing the Dark Universe he's working on for WB and DC

DEL TORO: I haven’t followed up with Frankenstein so I really have very little to add to that.  Right now the only sort of shared universe project I’m working on is Dark Universe for Warners, you know, for DC, which is Swamp Thing, Demon, Deadman, Zatanna.  It’s a very different universe.

So what do you all think? Will this Justice League Dark universe tie in with the rest of DC's slate of movies? Or will there be a seperate "Dark Universe" that has it's own group of movies and characters?

So this to me sounds like he's saying the dark universe is it's own thing. Which I'm totally fine with. I'm much more concerned about why the hell Shazam is it's own thing.

This doesn't confirm a shared universe between the DCCU. If anything we'd have got a confirmation of this film being connected to the DCCU a long time ago. Guillermo is referring to a shared universe between these characters (what we've already known).

Yeah im not getting DCU out of this either. Just confirming the characters in the film. Now watch "Shared Universe" become the next thing coming out of everyones mouths to hype up their movies. Like "Dark", "Gritty", and " Realistic".

I'd like to see SwampThing and Batman together in same screen. So Justice League Dark in the same universe with Batman Vs Superman? I'm in!!!

Now what sucks is I wish it was all connected. Why are they saying Shazam is separate too? Is it gonna be a comedy? Is that why they dont want it affiliated with the others? Doesn't make sense to me.

Yea, mix them all up.
At least that way it'll be different from the MCU, which is going the cosmic route.

Didn't Trinity War suck, though? Whatever. Do it.

A separate Justice League dark universe or, a shared universe with the DCCU. Either one is extremely awesome too me.

I have a feeling it will be apart of the DCCU. Why? Because WB knows not to get talent like Del Toro and not include him in their universe. Plus his comment about it being "A very different universe," is likely him saying that working within the DC Universe is unlike any project he has done.

I want Matt Ryan as Constantine in this.

Dark Universe can easily be connected to the mainstream DCCU and at the same time make it something on its own. I trust del toro, hopefully we see Zatanna and the rest of the mystical beings like Klarion, Cain and Lucifer.
