Robin (Tim Drake) has come out as bisexual in the pages of DC Comics' Batman: Urban Legends.

In the latest issue of the monthly anthology series, Tim is reunited with his old friend Bernard, but their dinner is interrupted by the arrival of the Chaos Monster (don't you hate it when that happens?), who kidnaps Bernard with the intention of making him a human sacrifice.

In his Boy Wonder guise, Drake rescues Bernard, who states that he "wishes he could've finished his date with Tim," completely unaware that unaware that he's actually talking to his friend. Later, Tim goes to see Bernard and officially accepts a date, establishing himself as a new LGBTQ+ DC Comics character.

Tim has also dated fellow superhero Spoiler (Stephanie Brown), and writer Meghan Fitzmartin explained that she's not ready to put a label on Robin's sexuality yet as he's still figuring things out for himself.

“I wanted to pay tribute to the fact that sexuality is a journey,” she tells Polygon. “To be clear, his feelings for Stephanie have been/are 100% real, as are his feelings for Bernard. However, Tim is still figuring himself out. I don’t think he has the language for it all … yet.”

“I fully sat on the floor of my apartment for a solid two minutes in happiness as it sunk in," she added when asked how it felt to get the go-ahead from DC. "I hope it is as meaningful for others as it has been for me.”
