Mad Cave Studios, the same studio behind Nottingham, Becstar, and Bountiful Garden, is releasing a new adventure, and this racing series will require readers to buckle up tight!
Speed Republic takes readers to a futuristic Europe that is united under one man, The Autocrat. Under his rule, citizens must compete for a life free from poverty by participating in a deadly race across Europe. Speed Republic follows Sebastian Vlaencia in his attempt to cross the finish line in one piece and claim the life that he desires.
Mad Cave Studios was kind enough to share the alternate covers for the first issue with us, as well as several of the interior pages. They have even put together a pretty cool trailer to promote the upcoming series, which you can find below.
Speed Republic #1 is available for pre-order via the Mad Cave site (click here) and will land in stores February 2nd!
Synopsis: In the future, Europe has united under one man, The Autocrat. He rules the apocalyptic landscape from corporate monopolies with a vision of unity that is gospel to some, but hollow to others. To distract the 99% from their poor and empty lives, they are given the opportunity to compete in the Grand Race. A marathon street race through Europe where only one driver can make it to the end and win a life of luxury. Our hero, Sebastian Valencia enters with the hope that winning this race can make up for his wasted past, but along the way he starts to question what kind of future he is actually buying into.
About The Author:
ComicBookMovie.com and Best Little Sites was the brainchild of Nate and a friend way back in 2002. Nate initially focused on the back-end programming and front-end design, but now manages the company and its associated sites as well, with a LOT of help from some very talented contributors.
Nate has loved comics from a very young age and continues to read them on a regular basis thanks to subscriptions to various titles (both Marvel and DC). He also loves movies, as his wife and children will attest. He's not overly critical of movies, so his reviews should be taken with a grain of salt as he's much more interested in being entertained and escaping the "real" world for a couple of hours than finding every conceivable plot-hole and character flaw in a film.
Outside of his guilty "nerdy" pleasures, Nate enjoys spending time with his wife and three boys, CrossFit, playing guitar, coaching youth sports and MMA (he spent a couple of years in the cage as an NHB fighter, but is now MUCH too old).
