According to Deadline, Cinemax and director Adam Wingard (You're Next, The Guest) have cast their leads for the upcoming adaptation of Robert Kirkman and Paul Azaceta’s comic series, Outcast. Patrick Fugit (Gone Girl, Almost Famous) will play Kyle Barnes, who has been plagued by demonic possession since he was a child and sets out to find answers. Philip Glenister (Life On Mars) has been cast as West Virginian evangelical preacher and "soldier of God" Reverend Anderson, while young Gabriel Bateman is also on board as Joshua Astin, an 8-year-old who is also possessed, and seems to have a mysterious connection to Barnes. I haven't read this comic myself but it sounds pretty good. Any of you guys familiar with it?

The comic book is excellent. I don't know much about Fugit, but Glenister is a great actor -- even though I find him as an odd choice for the character he's going to star as.

And wtf is this thing that the kid is connected to Kyle? That isn't even implied in the comics -- the whole thing goes ina wholly different way. The whole kid thing is more of an introductory story.
