COMICS: CAPTAIN AMERICA & BUCKY HAWKEYE Launches This April

It has today been revealed that Marvel will be dropping the Bucky part of Captain America & Bucky as of issue #629, replacing him with Hawkeye for four issues. Iron Man and Black Widow are set to follow soon after. Just in time for The Avengers!

Marvel today announced that Captain America & Bucky will become Captain America & Hawkeye as of this April. Cullen Bunn will write the "new" series while Alessandro Vitti will be on art duties. "I'm a huge Captain America fan. As a much younger writer, Hawkeye was one of the characters I loved the most. So I jumped all over this," said Bunn of the new series. Between being on the roster of Avengers, Avengers Academy , Secret Avengers and now this book, it seems like Hawkeye is just as busy as Wolverine these days! Have no fear though as the change in title will last for only four issues before changing once again and teaming Cap with someone else.

"The simple way to describe the first arc is that Captain America and Hawkeye go out and fight a bunch of dinosaurs. That's how I pitched it. Cap and Hawkeye have gone through so much together, but they have a very different approach to how they do things. I wanted to explore that relationship and how they see each other. In many ways Clint really admires Cap and they're best of friends, but they get under each others' skins like nobody else. I love my brothers, I'd do anything for them, but they drive me nuts sometimes. I channeled a lot of that into this book." Both Black Widow and Iron Man will appear in the book (good timing considering the release of The Avengers, eh?) although we'll also see Cap team-up with some non-Avengers too.
