COMICS: Could a new Defenders Series be on its way?

With Marvel releasing new character teasers daily could there be clues to a new Defenders series? And could they be facing off against THE INCREDIBLE HULK?

So I'm sure many of you have worked this out by looking at the characters being teased but there seems to be some pretty compelling evidence that points to the fact that this may be true.

Recently, Marvel have announced the characters that make up 'The Mighty' from their current event Fear Itself. Following this they've released teaser images of some of the characters from the roster daily with the tag-line
"It's Either in You or It's Not"

The folks over at Bleeding Cool have noticed (much like many of you) that the first four teaser images all contain the word 'Defender'

Many thanks to Bleeding Cool for the image below

However that changed with the image of the Hulk released today, containing the word 'offender'

Could this mean 'The Mighty' could be facing off against an evil Hulk? And could this mean the 'The Mighty' could infact be 'The Mighty Defenders'?

Looks like we'll have to wait for the Fear Itself Panel (Sunday, July 24th at 12:30PM PST) during Comic-Con International in San Diego to find out for sure!

I think its pretty obvious that its the New Defenders.

@ Xenix

No, Fear Itself isn't talking about the Midgard Serpent. The main villain in Fear Itself is called the Serpent. He's basically the God of Fear who gave all the evil/tainted hammers to all these people.

Interesting. Hopefully, the new Defenders series (if it really comes out) is worth it.

Could the words in the character silhouettes be clues as to what can be expected in terms of stories and themes?

Nuck82: If you have early Defenders, you have any of the Avengers/Defenders war from around that time? GREAT story!

Agreed, Intruder. I'm sure a dilemma will be added to limit his power.

So did someone break the code on this one? Maybe I missed it somewhere.

Are you sure this isn't red Hulk?

Red Hulk had his own team of Offenders

the defenders was a classic marvel team book.

maybe they could add nova to the team.

@Xenix - Although the Surfer has been a consistent member of the team over the years, the original group only consisted of Dr. Strange, the Hulk and Namor.

definitely NOT red hulk... it's red she hulk on the team so the hulk is the green one.

and im hoping there is more than just the hulk battling "The Mighty." like Intruder said, silver surfer could take out the hulk himself. maybe "The Mighty" will fight "The Worthy."

@HaroldOfGalactus That also helps to prove that it's the Red Hulk, and the Red Hulk wears black pants, and Hulk usually wears purple.

Which Hulk was a Worthy?

Would that mean the 'Iron Fist' poster is actually Namor?

The Defenders always struck me as a "poor mans' Avengers". I know there's been some major power players in their roster, but despite that was never able to get into that book. I don't get the idea of mega powered characters like Strange and Surfer being part of a team. They seem more like they should remain free agents to me.

@Jefferys GREEN Hulk was Worthy

The defenders have fought threats on a scale that dwarfs anything the avengers have done.

While the Avengers may be Earth's mightiest heroes, the Defenders defend this dimension(the entire universe) from threats hailing fom every other dimension(parallel realms, dimensions, and universes)

I loooooooooooved The Defenders , one of my very favorite super teams. They had sooooo many cool line-ups !!!

After Avengers becomes the huge success that I want it to be , I then want to see an Iron Fist movie ( just because he's so freaking cool !!! ) , then I want to see a Dr.Strange movie and then I want to see a Defenders movie.
There.
There you go , Hollywood . I've placed my order, please proceed.

If it's really going to be a team coming together, than it's gotta be after Annihilators vs. Avengers comes out.

Iron Fist seems a little out of place. Don't get me wrong he is a great character, but he is no Namor replacement.
