That Gambit/Cap one is pretty sweet. So is Magneto

i say avengers win both. Iron Man has clearly figured out a way to counter magnatism - one punch to the old man's head has him drinking and pooping through a straw for his remaining few years.

the cap battle is interesting tho... if gambit could get his hands on that shield and power it up... that'd be cool! cap still wins tho..

Cap, currently is winning the poll 6 to 4. I'm not even going to comment on that...

OdinsBeard Yes, but Mgneto has Magnetic force fields and the power to control metal, meaning, he can just counter his attack, then smash an 18 wheeler on his head. Honestly, when it comes down to each character's capabilities and tactics, Magneto and Gambit would win, however, both Cap and Iron Man are more popular, they'll most likely win. Besides if this whole AvsX comic book series is to the death, does anyone honestly believe they'd kill off 2 characters that are getting a movie in 2 1/2 months? Nah.....

Gambits reflexes, agility, dexterity, and even strength are all super human. Cap is just peak human.

Both Cap and Gambit have beaten characters stronger than each other before.

If I were writing this the easiest path to victory would be a Gambit speed blitz win.

The greatest tactician, strategist, and leader in comics who also happens to be one of the best martial artists in a peak human body VS. a guy who loses his mind around any hot woman even though he has charming powers. Right... not lopsided at all.

Just like Batman, Reed Richards, Dr. Doom, and Tony Stark... Captain America's a born winner. The guy has soloed omnipotent deities. SOLOED OMNIPOTENT DEITIES. What's Gambit's greatest feat? Nailing Rogue and almost dying? OK, I'll admit that's pretty admirable. Regardless, Gambit will always be a second stringer and they should have picked something a bit more realistic and even.

And ''popularity'' has nothing to do with it. In fact, I assure you that Gambit is more popular among the young demographic 14-22 based purely on kids/teenagers not liking clean cut heroes.

Cap has decades of team and solo experience against a greater variety of foes than Gambit. Victory goes to Cap.

Magneto is a powerhouse mutant that, as it was perfectly said in Schism: Has never won a battle. Tony, on the other hand, is being set up for some big, probably negative, changes in his own title, so this would be a perfect opportunity to give Mags a win. Victory goes to Magneto.

The avengers would just send Thor and hulk and meet back just in time for walking dead, but kidding aside umm whys magneto there? Are they fighting x mens villains also? If so could the avengers just send thanos in lol

I mean Agility/speed: Cap and Gambit are pretty close, but Cap is suppose to be a big dude, he can't get in places Remy can.

Tactics/fighting style: Well, Cap is the kick-boxing/boxing type, mainly uses his shield, legs and good old fists. Also, Cap is a better leader of a team then a solo combatant. Remy is a street fighter, he works better alone. He is fast, small and can pretty much light up anything he grasps (except tissue and a few other small things. Cap is a "plan ahead guy" while Lebeau usually just goes head on, Cap throws his sheild, Gambit dives out of the way, throws a few kinetic cards, Cap punches him hard in the face, grabs his sheild, tries bashing his head in with it, but if Remy even gets his pinkey on it, bye bye Cap.

It's a fair fight, but ultimately, Gambit would win. though if caught of guard, Cap could knock him out, I think the fight would go something like this, it's the URL, just copy in paste in your browser, the jackass disabled the embeded code.
Cap is excellent, but not in tight spots, much less a big ass jungle.

1) Captain America has handed Hulk, Spider-Man, Daredevil, Beast, and Black Panther their buttocks on multiple occasions. (Though Hulk is reallllly stretching it, and yes that was in 616.) Does Gambit have any 1v1 feats like that? Didn't think so.

2) Captain America's shield absorbs energy. Did you forget that? Sure it makes no sense at all since it bounces everywhere but hey, I don't make the rules.

I'm sorry, son. I realize Gambit's your favorite and you identify with him but it doesn't mean anything when he loses. It doesn't mean you lose too.

GambitFreak@ a little biased are we GAMBITfreak?? haha jk i love gambit too. but i'm not sure of his abilities passed energizing objects to throw. but i'm saying you've got guy-with-projectieles vs guy-who-is-master-at-blocking-things, add in cap's fighting skills and i think he'd outlast the cajun.

Still sticking by iron man's victory too. Magneto is an OLD man, powers or not i'm not sure how long he could keep up the fight without his meds and a nap.

These debates are worthless because at any given point these writers could say "Oh Gambit's mutant power has evolved recently and he can fly and throw planets at people now" or something stupid...so please...nerds...stop with the stupid debates!

Artwork is epic, book will be cool either way.

Or Jean could come back and be killed twice during this book - wouldn't put it past anyone @Marvel

If Gambit can get that blasted shield away from Cap and just start chuckin a bunch of charged up s#it at him then Cap won't last very long.

Pick a card!!

CAPTAIN AMERICA vs GAMBIT:

Captain America possesses ENHANCED-HUMAN physical attributes equal to the likes of Pre-DCnU Deathstroke, not Peak-Human as its misinformed to be, and his various feats prove that. Gambit only possesses superhuman agility and dexterity only when he's using kinetic energy powers within his body. Gambits powers would prove useless against Caps shield since it can absorb attack upon impact. Plus Caps experience put him well above Gambit level. Cap would ultimately win this. (side note: Everytime Cap and Black Panther fought, either one of them were at a disadvantage or they weren't trying at their fullest)

IRON MAN vs MAGNETO:

As explained before, Iron Man modified his armors YEARS AGO after his first battle with Mags with a demagnetizing agent that makes his armors immune to magnetism and has backup systems for EMPs. Magneto would have to be really creative to take Iron Man down, but Iron Man has the upper hand Because of is wide variety of defensive and offensive options.

Heh. Cap and Iron Man would win.

Think about it. Cap is a leader and would know exactly how to take out Gambit. Being much like Batman in this he study's his opponents, heh he study's everyone and knows how to take them down. He went toe to toe with Spider-man on several occasions. Sorry Gambit.

Why would Iron Man win over Magneto? 1. Magneto is a born looser. He has tried to kill several people over the years and wasn't successful. Iron Man has gone toe to toe with the likes of Spider-man, Hulk, and Thor on occasion. With his suit resisting magnetism, having force fields him self etc. he could probably take Magneto down. The only reason I can think of him not wining, is that Iron Man most likely would not try to kill Magneto. Magneto on the other hand would try to kill Iron Man. So Iron Man would be fighting to contain Magneto, whereas Magneto might be able to get lucky and kill him. But this is doubtful because he's so popular especially with the new movie coming out.

Still who knows, they actually are pretty evenly matched.

That art looks freakn amazing. Problem I have is Magneto having a slug fest with Iron Man. Thought they would have been smarter than that. Magneto should be throwing projectiles and other long distance tactics. Just because he has a helmet does not mean he came stand toe to toe with Iron Man

The thing to remember about Cap and the serum is that he's at the peak of human potential in ALL physical aspects. That means strength, speed, agility, and dexterity. Normally if a person ramps up one (strength) one will drop proportionally (speed/agility) The serum helps slow the buildup of lactic acid/fatigue toxins, so he can fight at 100% for hours. Don't think that's true for Gambit. Add in the fact that he's considered the one of if not the best hand to hand experts in the MU... The deck is stacked against Remy.

IM's armor resists magnetism, augments his strength and can also self repair, Magneto is probably arthritic by now (seriously, how old IS he?). One hit from tony and it's gonna take more than that Mags' helmet to save him.
