Okay, I'm in as long as it's available digitally. The nearest comic shop is an hour away, so all my "comics" are now on the iPad. I keep waiting for Marvel to make Mark Waid's Daredevil available. DC is ahead of them in that regard by making all of the new 52 available digitally the same day as the hard copies.

is marvel EVER going to stop killing and resurrecting bucky? or their characters at all? like they hate DC so much they did the exact opposite of a reboot and went WAYYYYYY to far, thus f***ing up the universe even further

Alot of good comics from Marvel coming out this year. This one should be good.

@Jarvisjackrabbit the nearest comic book store is an hour away? That sucks. I hate digital comics. I like having the real comic in my hands, lol.

Looks cool but I'm not buying. If Marvel had waited a year or at least six months after his 'death' to bring him back I would have been interested. Until they stop this kill em off and bringing em back right away bullshit I wont care about any character that is 'resurrected' on principle alone.

Just if Bermejo did the art as well..oh, but hey, Butch Guice looks great, too. And well, this is another short death, but I love Winter Soldier, so I don't really mind. Just curious of how this will go.

thornstockton: Check out the source, that other half of the creative team isn't included indeed. Meaning Josh didn't leave it out.

Yeah, Marvel how dare you bring back a character from death. DC would never do such a thing! If they ever killed Superman, he'd stay dead... oh wait... ; )
niknik

Ummmm, for the record: He didn't die in Fear Itself. He was gravely injured but survived. They "Faked" his death so that he could operate covertly. So again for the record, he didn't "come back" from the dead in just one month. While I too hate with a passion the way they use the "death" of a character as a sales gimmick only to bring them back with a "Return" and new first issue, this was clearly not the case.

@DocDrop-the difference is that Superman was dead for a year. Green Arrow was dead for ten years, Barry Allen for twenty. Those deaths meant something. When DC brought them back, fans were actually excited. Marvel doesn't keep characters dead or missing long enough for fans to actually miss the character. Hell, they didn't even let the body of the Human Torch get cold before they brought him back. Also, with the events of Blackest Night, characters that die in the DC universe actually stay dead now.

Art looks good but totally put off by marvel just killing then bringing back then killing every one, in the future this is exactly how the world will be run by marvel after world war 4

I never thought Bucky was a bad Captain America...just thought he was a better Winter Soldier. Glad he's back in the role he belongs in. I do agree with a lot of youse guys on here though, I'm sick and tired of 'Marvel deaths'

Why can't these stupid characters just stay dead?!!
surtur
surtur - 1/2/2012, 3:45 AM
lol. *SPOILER* Given that he didn't die in the Fear Itself event in first place, I find all the "why don't they stay dead" lulz even lulzier. By the last issues of the same event, it was revealed that Fury faked his death so he could use the dude as a secret agent of sorts. I like the angle now that nobody else 'cept Cap, Fury, and Widow can know he's still alive... Bucky's basicaly trying to "stay dead" so all the stay-dead-lulz still kinda applies, in a weird way. lolololollolol.

Finally, Bucky Barnes > Dick Grayson starting from 2012

Dick Grayson ultimately can't seem to stray away from the Batman formula, acrobatic martial artist with gadgets. Winter Soldier's approach is different enough from Captain America so he is not gonna be just another Captain America.

@matchesmalone - Batman R.I.P./Return of Bruce Wayne ring any bells? Not to mention how terrible they were...
Gunslinger
Gunslinger - 1/2/2012, 5:46 AM
Plus... Bucky didn't die. They faked his death. Giving an opinion without knowing the facts is ridiculous.
MatchesMalone
MatchesMalone - 1/2/2012, 6:43 AM
@Gunslinger-I wasn't saying DC isn't guilty of using death as a plot device, but they kept Bruce Wayne out of the comics for a year. It just seems to me that the longer they keep a character dead, the more triumphant their return. Marvel brings 'em back in less than a year. Human Torch ring any bells? Plus, I never intimated that Bucky was dead. If you notice in my original post, I said, "dead or missing." Not to mention, I thought the Return of Bruce Wayne was quite clever. Giving an opinion without reading comprehension is ridiculous.

Btw, I'm an equal fan of both Marvel AND DC, as well as many other comic companies, so I don't wanna hear how I'm a "Nolanite" because of my screenname and avatar. I believe it was Jolt17 who said, "All hail the Neutralites!", or something like that. I think we need a third party, so I'm stealing Jolt17's word, giving him full credit of course, and I'm starting the Neutralites. :)
