This came up recently in a different article. Tony Stark has demagnetized his armor in the past. Check out Avengers West Coast #56-60 where Magneto takes on the AWC.

IRON Man vs. MAGNETo...REALLY??? He can REMOVE the adamantium from Wolverine's bones...so OF COURSE Iron Man has a chance. Of course :/

Now the reason why they combined Colossus with Juggernaut's powers is finally at a fruition......To take on The Hulk. But will that be enough to take on The Incredible Hulk? Dont forget the Hulk family especially Red Hulk. The X-men have no chance. Apart from Wolverine, Sabretooth, Deadpool, all the Weapon X agents, Cable and maybe Bishop, the X-men really dont have much extensive combat skills. Black Widow can definitely hold her own against Gambit, Cap's shield can hold any blast from any mutant including Cyclops' Optic Blasts. No one has ever withstood a blow from Mjolnir, not even Hulk. Speaking of Hulk, no one has ever stopped him. Honestly all these crossovers though, you gotta ask what the hell are the ILLUMINATI doing behind the shadows. Arent they supposed to stop something like this from happening?

Of course DC-ite. Iron Man is more scientifically minded than Batman, and in a prep situation he's way more prepared than Batman sans any PIS/Batgod situation. Batman = utility belt. Iron Man = the whole armor is a swiss army knife & a walking computer.

This battle is about how prepared Iron Man (who always think about possible futures and quite good in solving scientific problems) against one of the most dangerous Mutants. Of course the odds are stack against Iron Man, but Tony Stark is always the single Avenger who can almost do anything from brute force, sneaky clandestine stuff, to mind game.

Why are people ignoring the fact that Iron Man modified his armor years ago with a demagnetizing agent and he has backup systems for EMPs? This was already covered in the first article of the IRON MAN vs MAGNETO cover art for AVENGERS vs X-MEN.

Iron Man is just a moniker given by bystanders (think about the movie). It's still made from metal but it's not Iron.

No, Iron-Man's armour is not iron and he has de-magnetised it. Would that stop Magneto? No. If Iron-Man can take out Magneto quickly it could be game over but give Magneto just a few seconds and he can easily win depending on a couple of things:

1 - His surroundings. There's sure to be metal somewhere, even in its raw mineral state.

2 - Can Iron-Man de-magnetise the WHOLE suit? There's sure to be some component Erik can sniff out.

3 - What's Tony wearing under that suit? Just a belt buckle or even button would be enough.

4 - What's Tony's dental record? A filling pushed through his brain would be rather painful.

5 - This is the main one. I very much doubt Tony has managed to fully de-magnetise that arc reactor in his chest? Even it's casing?

Unless Tony takes Magneto out instantly, it's not likely to end well for him!

It all depends on the writers and last time I checked Iron Man has more than one suit. He customizes suits based on the adversaries he faces. He customized a suit to take on Hulk, Thor and yes...Magneto. He doesn't just have one suit that is made of iron.

"If Magneto can suck the iron out of your blood then I'm sure he can [frick] up the circuits in Iron Man's suit."

Magneto has only done that once...in X2 film and that is when they put an iron additive into the person's blood that allowed him to be able to do so. There is no one on record that Magneto has been able to draw our their natural blood based on its iron content.

It really annoys me how many people say "Magneto wins because Iron Man is made of metal" He's a friggin super-genius, he's not going to wear his standard metal armour into battle with someone whose entire schtick is "controls metal"! Stop treating Tony like a moron, not to mention in the recent first issue of Magneto Not a Hero he was wearing a rubber Iron Man suit which still seemed to work like his normal armour.

I take it no one has read Magneto:Not A Hero. Tony And Mags Already Almost Came To Blows.And Tony Does Have Some Kind Of Plastic Armor.It Didnt Impress Mags He Lifted Cars And All Kind Of Crap From Outside.So Tony Is Going To Have To Have A Magnetic Pole Disrupter or something that cancels out Mags own magnetic field to even deal with them.And then i'll still be hard.Not a fight Tony can win without think of every unpredictable Sitch. And Rogue Is Against Ms Marvel some people dont pay attention or they just dont read comics lol
