The first few issues of this series were terrible. I heard it's gotten better, but I've already got 2 avengers series goin' and can't afford another, lol

Awesome comics needs more Vision... and less Avengers. Don't oversaturate, Marvel. Balance is needed.

Of all the people who need a new look, Vision is pretty high up there. Something like when Thor changed to his chainmail look....nothing CRAZILY different, just something that doesn't look as...well, silly

In all seriousness, this looks good.

@marvel72 Yah, I would really like to see The Vision brought into The Avengers movies, but not as Coulson becoming The Vision.

I will miss Coulson, but bringing him back to life would take away from his death in the first movie.

Yeah, I kind of follow on the agent Colson thing.

If they want to follow canon they have to introduce Wonder Man first. I suppose they could change things around and have a Shield back story concerning Simon. Then another quickie on the Human Torch.

To me it is important to keep the Vision's story because it definitely defines the character as we know him. Otherwise he becomes just another automation Similar to "I Robot"

As for his look, I would start with is cape, specifically minimizing it both in length and above the shoulders (the blinders might look cool, but offer no strategic value).

I can live with darkening the colors, but not drastic changes. Again the vision has Redskin and a green costume. Play with the shades, just don't change the character.

I would love to see the Vision in an Avengers movie, but ONLY if he's created by Ultron, as he should be. And I do NOT want to see Agent Coulson become the Vision. Leave his origin vague like it is in Avengers:EMH so we don't have to explain the whole Human Torch thing, but Ultron MUST play a role in the Vision's creation. Minor tweaks in the costume may be okay, but nothing dramatic.

@ BlackFlash: Doug Jones would be awesome as Vision. Just modulate his voice a little. But costume or mo-cap?

I don't think it's any secret that Vision was pretty heavily influenced by Martian Manhunter, but do even their civilian identities have to dress the same? How often do you see a guy walk down a city street wearing a trenchcoat and fedora?

Those two dogs in the second panel should totally be freaked out by weirdo "human" that doesn't smell right.

As for updating his look, I think they did pretty well with Vision uploaded into Iron lad's armor from Young Avengers:

Losing the cape is a good start. I'd also drop the red face, and differentiate the green and yellow more - a darker spruce green and metallic gold, maybe. (Almost Green Bay Packers colors?)

The Vision is one of the only characters where a cape makes any sense whatsoever. It can't be grabbed, snagged or tangled on anything since he turns immaterial with a thought, and it can become just as tough, rigid or heavy as the rest of him, making it effective as a shield or weapon in a variety of situations. Losing it to be trendy would be a crime.

Personally, I love that he looks like he walked out of a Flash Gordon production... An android built in the 1930's should. He's retro-sci-fi, which is perfect.

I'm fine for some updates to his look, but nothing kills comic costumes faster than trend following without any thought going in to why a character had a certain look to begin with. It just leads to everyone looking generic.
