Here what writer Matt Fraction had to say about the upcoming event:

"This is all the greatest hits. You don't need anything else. The deep cuts are for you to find if you want. It's about this hungry, craven, forgotten god and his mission to remake the world in his image. He's the thing under your bed or the monster in the closet."

"We get to see what happens when Captain America feels fear, and not just an 'Oh, geez, I hope I'm not late for work' fear but genuine, bone-chilling 'Boo!' fear. It really is a game-changing, status-quo-upending, earth-shaking Event. With a capital 'E'. This is the biggest thing in the universe, and it's all power chords and I love it."

As for McNiven, he and Vines made Old Man Logan one of the most gorgeous story arcs in recent memory.

Thor always gets put down first then I Can't wait til the finale issue when Thor kicks everyone's ass. Is not Asgard a magical city built of advanced tech and Odin force rather than 2011 Stark tech?

@Mightygreg - I feel you on Thor going down first. I'm a huge fan of The Thing and in all of these types of stories they have Thing laying in his own blood or knocked out. They always use the Marvel mighties to make a point that their new villain is a bad dude. The punch line (insert pun) is always "If the Mighty (insert hero name) can be taken down so easily then we're all in trouble." It never fails.

I know why they do this but it gets old watching your hero being used as the whipping boy to stir up ratings. Especially when the villain is revealed to be some low level idiot on super PCP or something. It's rarely very interesting. Nothing like seeing Thor knocked out by "The Peeper" Sigh...

Man...i read the story line about many different hammers coming into play and certain heroes and villains being deemed "worthy" to wield them in this Fear arc.....sounds similar to Blackest Night with all the rings going all over the place. But I will still give this a chance because I love Marvel. Siege and Doom War sucked though.
