COMICS: [SPOILER] Will Learn SPIDER-MAN's Secret Identity In The Near Future

Peter Parker revealed his identity to the world during the events of Civil War but later put that back in the bottle by making a deal with Mephisto. Now, a major character is about to learn the truth.

Spider-Man's secret identity is complicated, to say the least. After making a deal with Mephisto to make the world forget that he unmasked during Civil War, the likes of the Green Goblin and Aunt May all stopped knowing that Peter Parker is New York's wallcrawler. Iron Man, for example, doesn't even remember that Peter and his family lived with them and the fact that they were once close friends!

However, if Spidey unmasks in front of someone, those memories will come flooding back and the likes of the New Avengers and Fantastic Four have since learned his secret identity. Well, Bleeding Cool has revealed that Marvel is planning on having J. Jonah Jameson discover Peter's secrets and it's going to be very interesting to see what that entails. Last time, he actually attempted to sue the hero!

The key difference now, though, is that Jonah is neither in charge of The Daily Bugle nor New York's mayor so he won't be able to use his power against Peter! Then again, it's possible this time that he's going to be ok with this and that their relationship will change in an unexpected way. We'll have to wait and see but
there's currently no details on when and where this big reveal is going to take place.

great, so they took him in a new direction, then made him have a deal with the devil, only to gradually return things they took away. they are just running in circles without new ideas. i will return to spidey once slott and marvel stop butchering him.

@rebellion - There are some permanent things in the book though. We are about to witness how Alchemax from 2099 took over the world as a giant corporate entity. Liz is going to plunder Parker Industries to do it.

Man... I remeber when I read every Spider-Man issue and was able to keep up with what was going on, they were just adventures... nowadays is like... "say what?"

Also, I hear he's not married anymore? That was the thing I loved the most about Spideman; his relation to MJ and his married life...

@ODanil - yeah, it’s been that way for a while now. It was his whole fall out post-CW. Aunt May gets shot and he brokers a deal with Mephisto to forget his marriage to get her back

@barbaraminerva -

I still can't believe Peter would sacrifice his life with MJ for an old woman in twilight years. He should have thought about what Aunt May would have wanted.

That's why I can't mess Spider-Man anymore.

I admittedly haven't read Spidey in a couple of years now, but aren't JJJ and Peter family now, with Aunt May's marriage to his dad?

@DentonKnight - He died, and they all sorta blamed Peter for not being around or helping.

I am so glad I stopped reading Marvel comics nowadays. The same shit:

Multi-Verse's and Retconning the stories they previously established.

I keep forgetting One More Day retcon Civil War 1 since everyone found out Peter was Spider-Man there.

But if Civil War 1 was retcon, how could there be a Civil War 2?

Ah [frick] it, Marvel Comics don't make sense anymore outside of Spider-Man Renew Your Vows

@LEVITIKUZ - Man, Renew Your Vows is damn good.

I always thought JJJ secretly knew about Parker after so much time of Parker working for him and being the only dude to get good photos of Spider-Man and Parker never being present during Spider-Man related events, you would think he would figure it out. Same goes for Perry White, Superman dies and Clark Kent goes missing? Are they not journalists that should have some sort of investigative skills as well as editorial bosses?

@slickrickdesigns - Robbie Robertson knows, although Dan Slott forgets that.

@slickrickdesigns - One of my all time favourite pieces if comics is in the Ultimate comics after Peter has died and Jameson is a broken man that refuses to report on Miles because he's trying to honour Peter's memory.

What if, now stay with me on this one, we just stop with all these dumbass story lines where secret identities are exposed? Are writers really this lazy and out of good stories?

BRING IT DAN SLOTT! I would love to see JJJ sit back and HELP Spidey. I think, if Pete web his butt to a chair and have an unmasked one on one chat with him. JJJ might not have a stroke and start to help Spidey rebuild his image. Or...JJJ can become something else... I'm all for whatever happens. Love the Wallcrawler. I haven't missed ANY Spider-verse issues since May of '84.

Why don't they just make JJJ the new Venom host while they're at it?!

It's a good idea. A lot of directions that story could go. The two could finally make peace. Or JJJ could use it a as a chance to avenge his wife and father and get his career back. One thing I hate though is Slott writing Robbie Robertson as if he doesn't know, when so many hints have been dropped over the years that he does.
But beyond all that, it's Flash and Peter that really need to sit down and talk secrets. That could be the story of the year if Slott would just remember how cool their love/hate dynamic was.

Typical Josh article...

Get your facts right mate...Peter didn't undo his identity reveal with Mephisto! He made a deal with Mephisto to save Aunt May after she'd been shot with a bullet meant for Peter! He sacrificed his marriage to MJ as part of the deal...

Removing people's knowledge of his identity was done with Mr. Fantastic and Dr. Strange! The spell clouded people's memory of Peters dual identity and Peter could if he chose reveal it to someone...

Get it right!!! 😡
