COMICS: "SUPERIOR" Teaser From MARVEL NOW!.... is for SPIDER-MAN

In this editorial I speculate that the "Superior" Marvel NOW! teaser image might have to do with all- new series of SPIDER-MAN. I also discuss how Spider-Man should be handled, Slott/Ramos and More.

Marvel said that Spideys costume redesign is in connection you to #700 so ether he is wearing black because he's in mourning after the death of May or because he's went anti-hero.

Marvel has already promoted a "top-secret" series launch in January using the one-word teaser "Superior," which I say is the new title.

(THE) SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN sounds good doesnt it?

Spider-Man deserves to be in High School as a relatable and funny student, because some of MARVEL's sloppy writers have been playing around and making a childish (at times) Adult Peter Parker, clearly they think he's still in High School. His intelligence has been dropped down and seems to be "the third wheel" for THE AVENGERS, I say he doesn't belong there. He has been downplayed with his abilities several times and always pushed down. He doesn't even seem like one of the strongest in the Marvel Universe as we know him too, for Christ sake he took down THE HULK.

MARVEL doesn't know how to treat Spidey anymore (One More Day etc). It's the same old thing, doesn't really work out well anyway. He has lost what he used to be:

Back when he had large menacing eyes whith perfect art/writing,a strong and witty badass that everyone loved, statistics have even sown that after T.Mac left the sales in Spidey books have lowered. Dan Slott and Ramos have been good, I'm tired of Ramos's good/mediocre coloring book art. Ramos is horrible his art looks so cartoony I can't even read the issue without the art taking me out of the story it's just bad. At times its decent then its a colored mess on the page. His action scenes are stiff and static, his panelwork is cluttered instead of detailed because his art style where things tend to blend together.

I can't tell a single thing going on here, a real shame that this man is given the ending of the greatest super hero's series. With this pathetic bull:

Why not such wonderful and stunning artists for the COVER such as Marko Djuredjevic?

(Best artist ever) Steve Mcniven?

Paolo Rivera?

(A new coming who's miles better than Ramos) Christian Nauk?

Slott has been good so far, but made some terrible choices.

Carlie Cooper, who is she? A nobody.
Alpha? Goddammit no.
Doc Ock (One of the great villains dying ever since #600) No, stupid.

He needs to be back in High School where he can remain how he should, a teenager with spider powers.

Here's a thought: Maybe SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN could base its Peter Parker off Andrew Garfield's from this year THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN. (That's if they were going down the High School route).

So what do you think guys?

No to Spidey being back in high school. He's an adult, they already pulled some stupid crap with Mephisto to undo years of continuity, no anti-aging ray or whatever retarded device they come up with to butcher the story even more. Also Spidey isn't one of the strongest in the MCU...Not even close.

No high school please. They already went and reimagined that aspect of his life in Ultimate Spider-Man. That would also go against what Marvel said the purpose of Marvel NOW! is, which is to simply to take the Marvel Universe to a new era, not to reboot it's continuity. And when Spidey's book gets relaunched, it should remain The Amazing Spider-Man.

@YipCha-

Yeah because doing this is easy for Captain America or Daredevil, hell Iron Man doesn't than this determination to do this:

Not even close...lmao you are nuts.

And now you really pushed it:

It is a shame that Amazing Spider-Man is ending with such mediocre, cartoony art. A series this iconic should be ending with nothing short of spectacular art work.

No to sending him back to high-school though. How would that even work? Marvel NOW is a continuation of the Marvel Universe, not a reboot. And as much as I loved Andrew Garfield and The Amazing Spider-Man film, I think one of the worst things a comic can do is take cues from a movie, unless the film is iconic and the comic is failing. Taking inspiration from movie looks is fine, but changing the mythology of the comic to suit the film is a big no-no in my book.

"MARVEL doesn't know how to treat Spidey anymore (One More Day etc). It's the same old thing, doesn't really work out well anyway."

Now you've really pushed it

I'm gonna have to call you on this BIG TIME (Get it?)
Slott has done alot of different things with Spidey since OMD, such as Shed, Big time, the return and upgrade of classic villains, etc.

There's plenty of new stories, you're just one of those fans who doesn't like any of them. So instead of bitching that Marvel doesn't know what they're do, think for a minute if that is truly the case or if you just don't like the direction.

"Back when he had large menacing eyes whith perfect art/writing,a strong and witty badass that everyone loved"

Yes, cause Spider-man is suppose to be a menacing badass, are you serious?

As for perfect art/writing, while the art from the Mcfarlane days is outstanding, the writing is alot of cases doesn't hold up anymore (Strictly speaking "Peter Parker:Spider-man")

"He has been downplayed with his abilities several times and always pushed down. He doesn't even seem like one of the strongest in the Marvel Universe as we know him too, for Christ sake he took down THE HULK."

In the example you posted, what you forgot to mention was he had the Uni-Force at the time making him ALOT stronger then he normally is.

So saying "He is one of the strongest in the comic book universe." is just wrong. He's not lifting the whole building UP like Hulk would a mountain, he's SUPPORTING it which Iron Man could likey easily do.

"I can't tell a single thing going on here, a real shame that this man is given the ending of the greatest super hero's series. With this pathetic bull"

You're not suppose to tell what's going on? It's just a image with cameos from the series, it's not meant to be telling a story.

"He needs to be back in High School where he can remain how he should, a teenager with spider powers.

Here's a thought: Maybe SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN could base its Peter Parker off Andrew Garfield's from this year THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN"

Yeah no, [frick] that. This is why it makes me happy we don't have this line of thinking at Marvel.

"Hey! Let's keep Spider-man in highschool forever and ever, so fans can get the same story over and over while bitching we never do anything new while ...wait, hold on"

Fact of the matter is Dan Slott is doing new things with Spider-man and does in fact know what he's doing. You just don't like his ideas, resulting in calling them "Stupid" while bitching Marvel doesn't do anything new.

In short, I'm happy Marvel isn't doing what you want, cause it would ruin Spider-man.

@logicoflame- I kinda agree it be good to see a MATURE Perter Parker MJ as his Wife.

Perhaps working at Oscorp or The Bugle, instead of Horizon or whatsoever.

Kalel219: Slott didn't write the god awful piece of shit that was SHED, that was Zeb Wells. Slott's run has been very mediocre, trying to show how much he loves continuity and writing like Stan Lee did. His style gets very grating quickly. He has good story ideas but can' execute them well.

And if Ramos is drawing Amazing Spider-Man 700, that is just tragic.
