Ah, the final issue of Grim Hunt. The event the Spider-Man comics have been building up for awhile. Now the question is, does the final issue deliver a satisfying conclusion? The answer is yes......and a bit of no.
While this issue was better than the last, it just doesn't feel as powerful as the first two parts. The build-up to Kraven's resurrection was epic. But now that he's back, it just doesn't give that feel of terror.
Enough of that. Onto the goods. We get some serious black suit action. Spider-Man is at his most violent in this one, (almost as much as Back in Black). Great action scenes, the dialogue is very good, and the art matches the story well.
One of the most disappointing factors about Grim Hunt is that Venom and Anti-Venom didn't appear. I want a serious symboite arc already. There hasn't really been one since "New Ways to Die."
Julia Carpenter and Arana get a bigger role than the last issue. Their dialogue is top-notch.
The ending I wasn't a huge fan of. (SPOILER) Now that the Kravenoffs are in the Savage Land, well, it didn't feel very climatic. (Lets hope Fin Fang Foom gets them).
The epilogue is interesting. I look forward to seeing how that progresses.
In closing, this comic is very good. Not the satisfying conclusion I was hoping for, but it was still good.
I give this issue a 4/5. One Moment in Time starts next week.
