Guys, I understand and respect the point. It's why I would NEVER post a story devoted Lindsay Lohan with a link to Earth's Mightiest on the main -- no matter how much I'd try, I could never rationalize a reason. Point is that the main selling point is Civil War. Over at EMF, Angelo did a GREAT job of pulling that piece together.

But in trying to sell the site, within the story I provided a link to another story there, which no one is obligated to click on. But -- having just checked it -- a couple of hundred people have so far (and it's 7AM where I am), so there must be SOME interest. There's also been a GREAT response to other stories on the Gratuitous Babes page, looking at Comic-Con Babes, The Girls of James Bond and Morphing Superwomen. We're just trying to have a little fun.

And Leee, I couldn't agree more. I look at certain comic events and wonder why they aren't turned into animated miniseries. On the Marvel side Civil War comes to mind, and on the DC side, things like Brightest Night and the New Krypton storylines immediately suggest limited shows to me (admittedly they're more recent, but the odds of Warners animated them just seem unlikely).

Separate note entirely: anybody else going to see the Iron Man double feature at select AMC Theatres? I'm taking my sons and we're actually pretty psyched about it (even though we have the first film on DVD).

I would do terrible things to Lohan, then, and now. Check out the vid over at EM and you will see she's looking damn sexy.

RorMachine, when I saw the video, I thought it was worth posting. Whatever her personal problems are, in that video she, a, seemed to be having a good time, and, b, did indeed look "damn sexy."

I loved every Civil War book and they should do an animated movie based on it and then they should do World War Hulk.
What is up with the Lohan pic she is really weird.

Hey Anil, what story arc would you recommend after the Civil War and Planet Hulk storylines? I need a good read.

Crap, I meant World War Hulk. I also read Secret Invasion, that was actually my last read. I think i will pick up Messiah Complex. I might pick up GL Rebirth but ive never really read that many DC stories.

The Shitvil War was the beginning of the end for Marvel for me. I hated the results of the story- killing Cap, turning Iron Man into the biggest prick in all of Marvel, and forcing "Brand New Day" to clean up the mess in Spider-Man being the biggest offenders. More than that, this was the harbinger of Marvel turning into "all events all the time". It seems like you can't pick up a Marvel book anymore and find a nice self-contained story that doesn't cross over to something. Crossovers are fine once in a while, in moderation, but not one after the other after the other. Marvel has become such a convoluted mess anymore that I've almost completely given up on them- and I was always one who preferred their characters to DC.

comicb00kguy- I sort of agree with you I didn't like how Civil War ended I wish that cap and iron man would give up and become real heroes again not government agents. I still liked Civil War though just not the ending.

Superbatspiderman (cool name!): If Civil War had ended that way, with that "registration act" repealed because Cap finally was able to convince everyone of the foolishness of the whole thing, including Iron Man, and Doctor Strange whipped up a spell to make everyone who didn't need to know forget who Spider-Man was, I'd probably have a better view of the whole thing.

The problem is that after years of these big events where everything goes back to normal like the end of a sitcom, Marvel has it stuck in their heads that these "events" need to end with the "major change that will affect the Marvel Universe forever". There may be a time or two where that can work, if there is a major change in direction envisioned for a book or family of books, but too many of these "major changes" are just designed for cheap shock value, not becuase a writer has a brilliant idea for a new direction for one or more characters. I wish we could get away from cheap shocks and get back to clever and interesting storytelling, like what got me hooked on comics in the first place.
