The Best CBM Ever: The Final 8 - The MCU Dominates with 6

Thanks for everyone who has voted so far! We are down to the final 8 movies, and it is like choosing between your favourite kids (or action figures, or choosing between your kids and action figures).

The Battle

The MCU have an impressive 6 films in the final 8, and I'm sure quite a few people won't like that. But now those MCU Films are up against each other!

Pick one film from each battle (copy and paste into comments), or leave it blank if you can't choose. You can still vote if you haven't seen a particular film in any particular battle. I'll count the votes, and the winning film goes to the next round, the losing film is eliminated.
 

1 Captain America: The Winter Soldier v Doctor Strange

Round 3 Results

1 Captain America: The Winter Soldier (38) defeated Men In Black (1)
The Winter Soldier has been a behemoth all tournament, and the Men In Black had little chance.

2 Batman: Mask of the Phantasm  (5) lost to Captain America: Civil War (34)
Phantasm was the plucky underdog, but not even Batman could take down the plethora of Superheroes in Civil War.
 
3 The Wolverine (5) lost to The Avengers (34)
The Wolverine has a lot of fans, but The Avengers was the film that made CBMs explode.
 
4 X-Men: Days of Future Past (15) lost to Doctor Strange (22)
In what was the closest in a surprisingly lopsided round, Days of Future Past could not stand to the newest film on the block in Doctor Strange.

5 Guardians of the Galaxy  (32) defeated Hellboy II: The Golden Army (5)
Hellboy took down Superman and Batman, but couldn't take down a talking tree and raccoon.
 
6 Superman (15) lost to X-Men: First Class (24)
The Man of Steel now out the running, as Matt Vaughn's loved First Class enters the finl 8, and the final X-Men film standing.
 
7 Iron Man (24) defeated Batman Begins (14)
This one surprised me. I love Iron Man, but I thought Batman Begins would win. Many lamented about how tough this one was!
 
8 The Dark Knight (33) defeated Captain America: The First Avenger (6)
The Dark Knight gave Captain America his first defeat, and is the only Batman film left.

Man, to see 2 Captain America movies getting this far makes me very happy. But deciding between Civil War and Avengers is just too tough... gotta go with the feeling I felt when first watching the Avengers, no movie has yet surpassed that. Maybe Infinity War?

@Elayem - It should, but I wouldn't be surprised if Civil War - which is insanely overhyped imo - wins it, just because a lot of people on here seem to love it.
IMO, it's not even top 5 in the MCU.

Amongst critics and general fans however, The Dark Knight remains an unthreatened #1, so it'll be interesting to see where it ends up when "comic fans" decides the outcome.

@Philip - Yeah. I would put Civil War and Winter Soldier in the top 5 MCU, and Iron Man 1 as #1 MCU, and I love all of those movies but The Dark Knight is still leagues better than all of them in my opinion.

@Elayem - Having rewatched The Dark Knight a couple of days back, the film does hold up well enough but apart from The Joker (who was phenomenal), the film kinda soured for me towards the end. Maybe it has to do with just how similar the movie felt to Michael Mann's HEAT. Some scenes are even shot the same way.

@MonsieurCringe - The thing is that a movie like The Dark Knight has very little CGI, and so will age FAR better than a movie like Civil War. Iron Man 3's firebreathing extremis soldiers effects looked dated to me as I watched it in the theater.
Also The Dark Knight has made Greatest Films of All Time lists, something no other CBM has done.
