I'm not to big on making articles, but when I do I want them to look professional. I haven't been the best at it, but I learned some new things to help me out with that. I would like to share some of my tips and tricks with you today.
I know the site already have tutorials, but if you are like me, they did not help much.
The Basics:
-
Uploading a thumbnail for your article can be done by selecting "Choose File" at the top of the Manage Articles screen.
-
If you want to add a Banner put in the URL for the banner(right click and select "copy image URL") in the provided space beside "Banner Image:" but if you want to upload it, select "Upload Banner Image?" and it will switch over.
-
Delete the text already in the article space before you begin.
-
Do not forget to fill in the Headline, Summary, Categories, and Source. Select your Article Type and fansite you want your article featured in(if you have a fansite).
-
When writing your articles be sure to use the appropriate tools for formatting.
Embedding Videos and Photos:
-
To get the embed code for a photo, in chrome(I'm not sure about other browsers) right click on the image, select "Inspect Elements" and copy the embed code from there.
-
To get the embed code from a Youtube video, find the video you want and select "Share" under the video. Select "Embed" and copy the embed code.
-
In a comment, you can just paste the embed code and hit "Post" and they will show up, but in the article you have to hit "Source" and paste it in the appropriate spot.
-
Click "Source" again once you have finished. With an image, it will show up in the article space, but with a video it will show up as the image below.
Blocking and Links:
-
To block a section of text, click within the section then click the icon above that looks like quote marks. The background of the section will turn yellow.
-
To set a section or a word as a link, highlight it then select the icon that looks like a globe. Take the URL of the page you want the link to and post it in the URL section on the screen that pops up. Click "OK" once you are done.
Preview:
-
To preview your article as you go, select the icon that looks like a page with a magnify glass above it. A new tab will open where you can view it. The formatting won't be the same as the finished product.
Changing text color:
-
To change the color of any text, use this formula(must use in Source): <FONT COLOR="######">text text text text text</FONT>
-
In the spaces with the "#" you must put in the proper code for the proper color.
-
Type the text that you want to be that color in the area with "text" and make sure you do it in "Source."
