The Mighty Thor #20 revealed that the Asgardian
Volstagg is the new wielder of the alternate Mjolnir.
After arriving in Nidavellir to assist in a peacekeeping mission, events take a horrible turn when the dwarven mines are bombarded with the fires of Muspelheim, and Volstagg fails to protect a group of Light Elf children in the ensuing carnage. Volstagg's rage is what apparently makes him worthy of the hammer, with the issue concluding with his transformation into the War Thor.
