As I continue along the Road to Avengers Endgame, next up is THOR. Looking back on this character it is interesting to see how he has evolved.

With Avengers Endgame releasing later this year, I am in the process of doing REWIND REVIEWS of the entirety of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in order of release. I have so far reviewed Iron Man, The Incredbile Hulk and Iron Man 2 (if you'd like to check any of them out please follow the link in the description to my channel!) Next up is the God of Thunder himself THOR.

When this film first saw the light of day I was actually pretty keen for it. I'm a big fan of Kenneth Brannagh and was keen to see what he could do behind the camera and it was cool to see an Aussie as a super hero despite his past on Home and Away....
When the film first hit cinemas I was there day one and saw the movie a couple of times over the course of that week having really enjoyed what we got. Now that the movie is coming on a decade old however I look back at it in a different light.

Thor is an interesting character in that he has evolved not only a as a character over the course of the Marvel Cinematic Universe but has also seen massive evolution in the writing room to make him more fun and light hearted and NOW a huge fan favorite. What Taika Waititi and the Russo's have done to move his character from Shakespearean douche to pun throwing bad ass is quite interesting in and of itself and I think most of us would agree Thor and the MCU is better for it.

In this review I look back at THOR as a now 8 going on 9 year film and look at the character in retrospect. This film feels so different when you look back at it as the MCU has gone leaps and bounds beyond these small, low stakes outtings that now feel so out of place in a world where the universe is at stake. this said some might find it refreshing.

Regardless of your opinion on the film, I woul love to continue the discussion in the comments section so please come on over, watch the video and tell me your thoughts on 2011's THOR.

If you enjoy what you see consider dropping a LIKE and SUBSCRIBING.

Much love people!
