SDCC '14: THE FLASH Pilot Screening Declared A Hit; iZOMBIE A No-Show
The CW was expected to debut the pilots of two upcoming TV series, The Flash and iZombie, and while the former was extremely well-received, the Vertigo comic adaption didn't even screen.
One of the most anticipated aspects of San Diego Comic-Con this year was the screenings of pilot episodes for new DC Comics-based TV shows, with episode one of The Flash and iZombie set to premiere. Well, Bleeding Cool has a source who reported The Flash was a big crowd-pleaser, but strangely, the latter pilot was a no-show. "A jam-packed Ballroom 20 played host to WB's Flash pilot and the huge audience loved it," they write. "It would appear the network has another hit, another Arrow in its quiver so to speak. I could feel the audience's enthusiasm and excitement. Another thing I noticed is a sizable chunk of the audience being female. The iZombie pilot that was promised wasn't delivered, with a Warner rep saying 'cast changes' are responsible and only a clip would be screened." Well, that certainly sounds troubling for the Vertigo property, but it's very pleasing to hear the Scarlett Speedster take off. The Flash debuts on the CW on October 7th, with iZombie roughly kicking off later in the year.
