There have been some major questions about CW's newest superhero venture Arrow after the let down that was the Smallville finale. The series pilot debuted last night at San Diego Comic Con and fans leaving the premiere told EW that they loved it. “I really liked it; it had really good production values,” said fan Jamie. Gabriel who watched the pilot with Jamie added, “It was really cool; it really kept you into it.” Carrissa also caught the show and said that she doesn't normally watch a lot of TV but she would definitely be tuning in to check Arrow out when it premieres later this Fall on the CW. One fan even went as far as comparing the show to Smallville only "Darker". The only negative about the episdoe came from a fan named Shelby who said it was action packed but felt a bit cheesy at times.

EW also gave a short little review of the show's pilot, saying that the episode plays out a lot like a TV sized version of Batman Begins. They also went out to say that it manages to tell a pretty ambitious story for only having a small screen budget. Compliments were also paid to the CGI work for the show. The humor in was another highlight for screening goers. For a possible date Oliver is told the girl looks like the one from Twilight. "Whats Twilight?" asks Ollie. "You’re so better off not knowing,” says his friend.

Update: Here is a new clip that Spoiler TV posted. Thanks to @Natasha_SHIELD for the embed.

Arrow will make its debut on the CW October 10th and will star Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, Colin Donnell as Tommy, Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Willa Holland as Thea Queen, with Susanna Thompson as Moira Queen and Paul Blackthorne as Detective Quentin Lance.

hey grif, you're funny. but how about reserving judgement on something until you ACTUALLY see it? if you haven't seen it, then you don't know. For all I know, you could be a giant turd sitting in a computer chair...

Those hating on Grif are usually worse than Grif himself.

That being said, I'm actually excited to see this show.

def gona check this out. still my expectations are not very high. im out at the first sign of stupidity with this show. i enjoyed watching smallville even though it was cheesey and disappointing at times but im not going through another show like that. smallville was kinda like watching a train wreck, i just couldnt look away, was always hoping for the show to turn around and redeem itself. everytime it started to get good it just totally shit on the fans.

the comicon crowd loved it.. what a surprise. now that is an unbiased, unprejudiced, and impartial audience that doesn't love anything comic based, just because is comic based....

I lost interest on this show the minute I heard the comment, we change his city from Star City to so and so to keep more grounded. F them, they won't do me in like they did with Smallville.

Grif cracks me up and is a staple to this board.

Anyway, I avoided Smallville overall, but I may check this out. If they are smart they could get a little expanded TV universe action here after the show is established.

Just saw the clip, my expression: WOW! I'm sold!

I'm gonna actually give this a shot. I haven't watched a regular TV show since Smallville - and that ended disappointedly AWFUL. Hope this is good!

JokerEl @ I watched Smallville in its entire 10 year run and I was a fan. But you can not tell me that the last episode was not a huge let down. I mean we spent 10 years waiting for him to put on the suit and fly and we got like 15 minutes of him flying and most of that was CGI. And he put the suit on only to let us see him rip his shirt open to see the top of it? Felt like us the fans deserved more then that.
