DAREDEVIL Actor Charlie Cox Debunks "Rumor" That He'll Appear In New SPIDER-MAN Movie

Fans may love the idea of Charlie Cox's Daredevil making the jump to the big screen as Peter Parker's attorney in the Spider-Man: far From Home sequel, but the actor hasn't heard anything about it...

A "rumor" recently did the rounds online that Charlie Cox was set to reprise the role of Matt Murdock for the upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home sequel, but the actor has now set things straight during an interview with ComicBook.com ahead of their Daredevil watch party tomorrow night.

"I hadn't heard those rumors, but it's certainly not with my Daredevil. I'm not involved in it," Cox revealed. "If that's true, it's not with me. It's with another actor."

Of course, it's not true. We know this because the original story was posted by notorious bullshit merchants We Got This Covered.

Most know better than to believe a word that comes out of that site at this stage, but because a few people will always buy anything they read on the internet, their nonsense still circulates. This particular fabrication gained traction because Kevin Smith mentioned it on his YouTube show.

So, Daredevil is not going to be in the next Spider-Man movie - but that doesn't mean Cox has no interest in returning as The Man Without Fear in The MCU.

"As a fan of the Marvel movies, I've loved the little stuff where they pop up here and there but because we were on Netflix, we weren't able to do as much for legal reasons, I don't know why," Cox added. "But I love the idea of Jessica and Matt showing up in the background or Matt as a lawyer advising Peter Parker. That'd be really, really cool."

For more, be sure to tune in to the Daredevil quarantine watch party at 9pm Eastern with showrunner Erik Oleson and most of the Season Three cast.

An easter egg could be cool, but I didn't expect anything else tbh.

Didn't Ror and Josh Wilding both used to write for We Got This Covered?

Yeah sadly this crossover was never going to happen. Disney probably wouldn't want the ultra gritty DD appearing in a super kid friendly Spider-Man franchise.

@Nightwing1015 - I’d be ok with them toning the violence down a bit. Just get Charlie in the role. He straight crushed it!

@TheJustinHammer - Yeah but I'm saying they wouldn't lead their audience of children directly to an R-rated product like DD. The character himself may not commit extreme violence, but it's certainly in the show.

Not to mention, they probably wouldn't want to drive popularity to the Netflix show now, seeing as they're in direct competition with it these days.

@Gmoney84 - Agreed, Cox is the best for the role. I just don't see it happening in a Spider-Man film sadly. And probably not for a while.

@Nightwing1015 - it’s have to be TWS vibes.

Or like when Clint killed that Yakuza. You see some blood and cut throats here and there but any final blows are out of view (if Kingpin showed up and started taking heads off).

@TheJustinHammer - Yeah I don't think that'd be a risk but I'm saying that's the way Disney may view it.

But as I say, if they're in direct competition with Netflix they may not want to go giving their shows more popularity. The first thing everyone would do after watching DD in a Marvel film is binge his show.

@BlackBeltJones - Who would you want for the re-cast?

@tmp3 - Charlie Cox Lol

If I have no choice, I’d go with Logan Marshall Green. He’s the right size, great physical actor, and has the right intensity

And I’ve never been a stickler for this, but he can do a hell of a New York accent too haha
