Vincent D'Onofrio made his MCU return as the Kingpin of Crime in Hawkeye, though many fans were left disappointed when it appeared his story had ended with a bullet to the head courtesy of Maya Lopez.
Luckily, the villain will make his grand return after surviving his injury in Echo later this month. From there, he'll also take centre stage in Daredevil: Born Again and is expected to be Spider-Man 4's big bad as well; in fact, it's been widely reported that Wilson Fisk will end up becoming New York City's new Mayor after promising to deal with the Big Apple's vigilantes.
Talking to Jake's Takes, D'Onofrio was asked which Avenger or hero he thinks could kill The Kingpin...an odd question, albeit one which saw the actor single out two superheroes he thinks are capable of beating the street-level big bad.
"This is a very difficult question, because I don't see that happening," the actor explained. "I don't see Kingpin dying. Kingpin never died in the canon of the comic books, so that's very difficult. I'll talk in terms of who could come close to it."
"I think that it would have to be either Daredevil or Spider-Man...together, the two of them together, maybe. But I don't see Kingpin going away," D'Onofrio added. "He never did when I was a kid, so I don't expect he will now."
MCU villains do have a habit of dying, but a more fitting end for the gangster would arguably be to end up behind bars after failing to overcome Matt Murdock and Peter Parker.
While Daredevil: Born Again is undergoing some creative changes, it was last year the actor shared his belief that the upcoming Disney+ series will be quite a bit different from the Man Without Fear's Netflix adventures.
"I think it's definitely a new show. It's not the Netflix show. It's definitely a new show. mean, all I can say is that Charlie [Cox] and I are not bored. We are having a great time. We have a great cast, and I think everybody else is having a great time too. Charlie's one of my favorite people, and I know that he comes here every day ready to knock it out of the park and you know how I am, I'm totally into this part, so I'm there for the same reason."
"We're really just delivering. It's a lot of work. Charlie's amazing because he has to do all the stunts and stuff, so he's in constant training and learning different things. But the scenes are great. I'm trying to skirt around specifics, but I can only say that it is a different show and it feels like a different show."
Echo premieres on Disney+ on January 9, while Daredevil: Born Again is currently undated but likely heading out way in 2025/2026.
