Debunked: No Daredevil For Robert Pattinson

Debunked: No Daredevil For Robert Pattinson

Despite solid sources name checking the Twilight star as the studio's favourite for the role of Matt Murdock in David Slade's reboot/follow up, it seems it's all just talk for now..

I think it was probably inevitable that Pattinson would me brought up for this role at some point given that he has worked with director David Slade on Twilight: Eclipse and is currently a hot property in Hollywood. Speculation as to who may step into the horned visage of The Man Without Fear have started up even earlier than usual though, and R Patz led the charge. But in this case at least it seems there are no truth to the rumors..

It turns out, however, that there’s no truth to the buzz about Pattinson donning the tight red costume when the Daredevil character is reborn.

“Don’t know who dreams these stories up,” a source close to Pattinson tells Gossip Cop.

And here is R Patz himself on the matter courtesy of MTV

Of course this doesn't mean that Pattison definitely wont test for the role and he may well be on Fox's radar. Don't be surprised if similar stories pop up debunking Bradley Cooper and Garret Hedlund soon too! This probably wont upset that many of you, although you have to admit, he did look the part if nothing else.

Damn.. he would of actually been good in the role. Who knows? Maybe he'll still get it :D

Go with an origin story like 'Daredevil: Yellow' and have either him or Chris Pine.

Good

I think Ryan Phillipe would be the best choice anyway

Ryan Phillipe Pictures, Images and Photos

that is hardly news. we all knew he wouldn't play DD or ANY other superhero. the only role i want him to play is a helpless victim of Blade in a reboot.

its shocking that people believe Robert Pattinson was up for the role of Daredevil. this rumor only came up cause David Slade directed The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. anyone belive this CR*P rumor needs a slap to wake them up.

@StrangerX

no Ryan Phillipe should not play Daredevil he should play Iron Fist with Marvel Studio.

@StrangerX

not really i think he would not be the right choice for the role aswell. Michael C Hall could play Ulysses Klaw in a Black Panther movie.

The rumor never stated he was "up for" the role, it stated that there was talk of Slade and Fox wanting to cast him. Pattinson's people seem to have said that is not true, but that could just mean that they haven't approached him yet.

No I think he may have too. I mean he is undoubtedly awful in Twilight, but so is everyone! Apparently he has shown some talent in other roles, and like I said, he really looks that part. That pic I posted in the article could be based on him.

Still, there are MUCH better choices.

Alexander Skarsgard, Chris Pine or Garret Hedlund.

@Dahamma-Dont worry i think everyone would rather shoot down my idea of Phillipe as DD than anything.

Why anyone out there is rooting for Hedlund after the crap job he did in Tron is beyond me.

Pattinson actually talked about this rumor on MTV yesterday. Pretty funny. "Didn't that movie just come out 3 years ago?"

Garett hudlan- has a nice tall fit build, perfect for daredevil, he also looks the part, except for his age, way to young, he'd come off as boyish and inexperienced, irresponsible. Also he's. Not a very convincing actor. Chris pine and rob pattinson- are both way too short, laughably short. Michael c hall is the obviously best pic, he's the only one who just feels right for the role. Good build, perfect age, fantastic actor, especially for that dark brooding avenger, I can really imagine him strangling goons with the wire of his billy club. Hall is right at that inbetween age of being young and old, which is perfect because he needs to have the older experienced feel. Not young kid coming into his own like spiderman

Fanboys make up rumors, that's who.

@AlexDeLarge87 I never thought of Ewan, but he could be pretty damn good. I don't think he'd ever do it but he would certainly pull off Matt Murdock. I like Guy Pearce but he won't do it either so right now I guess I like Chris Pine.

I'm more curious who could be Kingpin. I bet they use makeup to make him large like Juggernaut in X3. If he's in a suit most of the time it could be convincing.
