Though the combination of Finn Jones being cast as Iron Fist and Jeph Loeb's ( Marvel Television Executive Vice President ) recent denial of plans for a solo Punisher Netflix series seems to have put a significant damper on the possibility of Punisher receiving said solo Netflix series, Frank Castle actor Jon Bernthal stands ready. In an interview with Empire Magazine, it seems as if the Punisher has grabbed a small piece of Bernthal and refuses to let go.
"We're the last to know about these things," said Bernthal on the possibility of a Punisher series. He continued, "But this guy is burned into my heart and soul. I think about him all the time. And I look at it the same way Frank would look at it. I'm a soldier, man. If they call on me, I'll stand to attention, and I'll be ready."
Though excitement was high for Bernthal's Punsiher, early reviewers are raving about Elodie Yung's Elektra. Perhaps online chatter should be about Daredevil's lethal lover getting her own series, not Punisher.
Daredevil season 2 begins streaming on Netflix at 12 AM on March 18th.
