Jon Bernthal On Whether He Wants A Solo PUNISHER Netflix Series

"I think about [Punisher] all the time. And I look at it the same way Frank would look at it. I'm a soldier, man. If they call on me, I'll stand to attention, and I'll be ready."

Though the combination of Finn Jones being cast as Iron Fist and Jeph Loeb's ( Marvel Television Executive Vice President ) recent denial of plans for a solo Punisher Netflix series seems to have put a significant damper on the possibility of Punisher receiving said solo Netflix series, Frank Castle actor Jon Bernthal stands ready.  In an interview with Empire Magazine, it seems as if the Punisher has grabbed a small piece of Bernthal and refuses to let go.

"We're the last to know about these things," said Bernthal on the possibility of a Punisher series.  He continued, "But this guy is burned into my heart and soul. I think about him all the time. And I look at it the same way Frank would look at it. I'm a soldier, man. If they call on me, I'll stand to attention, and I'll be ready."

Though excitement was high for Bernthal's Punsiher, early reviewers are raving about Elodie Yung's Elektra.  Perhaps online chatter should be about Daredevil's lethal lover getting her own series, not Punisher.

Daredevil season 2 begins streaming on Netflix at 12 AM on March 18th.

Just when Matt thinks he is bringing order back to the city, new forces are rising in Hell’s Kitchen. Meanwhile, Matt must balance his duty to his community as a lawyer and his dangerous life as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, facing a life-altering choice that forces him to truly understand what it means to be a hero.

@TheRationalNerd - Not if the folks on their movie department were to draft him to do Punisher justice on film too.

I think there is a 98% chance that sometime after The Defenders that both The Punisher and Moon Knight will be receiving their own series. Thr Punisher would work so well in the format. It's the perfect medium for him. A 13-hour movie where every "season" you can see Castle violently and totally dismantle an entire crime family.

Netflix is just worried that a Punisher series might make all the other Marvel Netflix shows irrelevant. I applaud their decision.
