First DEADPOOL 2 TV Spot Released As The Sequel's Writer Debunks That Recent Villain Rumor

We've been hearing a lot of conflicting reports about Deadpool 2 in recent weeks with most of them revolving around what sound like pretty extensive reshoots. Recently, it was reported that Jack Kesy's character has been cut from the movie because of those and with rumours swirling that he was supposed to take on the role of the evil Black Tom Cassidy, fans were understandably disappointed.

Well, regardless of who he's playing (and whether or not The Juggernaut will join him if he is playing Tom), Deadpool 2 co-writer Rhett Reese has taken to Twitter to debunk those reports once and for all.

As a result, we clear clearly expect to see Kesy in the movie but there's still no word on who he'll be playing, so we'll just have to wait and see on that front. In the comics, Black Tom Cassidy is a mutant with the ability to channel energy through plant-life, a unique ability which could look really cool.

Also below is the first TV spot for Deadpool 2. Unfortunately, there's no new footage but it does a pretty great job of selling the sequel and it's fair to say that its release can't get here soon enough!

@TeddiRxpn01 - Juggernaut done right would be more interesting to me then all these other rando characters combined.

And how come so little Colossus in the trailers? Besides Colossus and Juggernaut, I'll just be watching for Darpinder.

@parkerray

You're watching a Deadpool and Cable movie for Dopinder?

@TeddiRxpn01 - He is 100% in this film.

Also, I love your Avi and your username. Awesome.

@L0RDbuckethead - Have you seen him or is this just some pretty solid “I can’t say where I got the information from” intel?

@WruceBayne - I have seen set photos of an actor wearing a motion capture suit with a large helmet identical to the shape of Cain Marko's comic helmet.

Similar to this:

But not as far down on the torso and arms.

@L0RDbuckethead - that’s good enough for me. I just hope he’s not in it for a couple of minutes in one scene.

@WruceBayne - That could very well happen. I hope he's not cut from the film, with these reports we've had about the mediocre testings and 'supposed' removing of things from the film.

I believe he will be in the prison truck/van breakout scene based on the set pics I saw.

@regularmovieguy - Slight hyperbole but yes, I'm still waiting for an X-men movie that makes use of Cyclops, Colossus, Kitty, Lockheed, Nightcrawler and has any kind of family dynamic and complexity like they do in the comics. For some reason Deadpool and Cable has been made first, so I'll take what scraps fall off the table; if it's Colossus and fricking Juggernaut, then hell yes. And Darpinder is the funniest part to me; moreso than Deadpool even because Darpinder's not trying; he just is that way. Character is funnier to me than one off gags that can feel forced.

I saw Kesy's name on a standee for the movie when I went to see Ready Player One on Saturday, so I figured he had to still be in it.

Black Tom and Juggernaut would be great villains for DP2/X-Force.
