Donald Glover And FX's DEADPOOL Animated Series Will Take Things In A Very Different Direction To The Movies

The success of Deadpool in 2016 took everyone by surprise and while the sequel is on the way, it still came as a surprise to learn that an animated series is being simultaneously developed by FX. However, before you go thinking that Ryan Reynolds will be reprising the role there too, the network's head has made it clear during a recent interview that this will be a different take on the Merc with the Mouth.

"Deadpool will be really different from the movies," he confirmed. "It has a different tone and editorial voice. [We] wanted to make something distinctly different from the movies." So, it could be that the show will take more cues from the comic books or will simply be even crazier but it's apparent that this animated take on the fan-favourite character isn't going to be just more of the same for fans.

Donald Glover is developing the series alongside his brother Stephen and the first season has been confirmed as running for ten episodes. Marvel and FX have already collaborated on Legion so it's easy to see why they want to team up again after that has found so much success. Are you guys looking forward to this animated take on Deadpool? As always, share your thoughts in the comments section.
