Ed Skrein Reveals New Details About His Take On 'Ajax' In DEADPOOL; Confirms 'Weapon X'

Deadpool star Ed Skrein talks here about his take on the villainous Ajax and what powers the character will have in the highly anticipated 2016 movie. He also confirms that Weapon X will play a part in both his and Wade Wilson's transformations, just like in the comics...

Talking to MTV News earlier today, Game of Thrones alum Ed Skrein revealed some new details about the villainous Ajax in Deadpool. We know that the character will be Wade Wilson's main foe in the movie, but is he really all that bad? "I think the rest of the world sees him as a bad guy. Me, I think he's just misunderstood. His name is Ajax; or Francis. He went through the same Weapon X programme as Wolverine and Deadpool," the actor confirmed, revealing a tie to the X-Men (with X-Men Origins: Wolverine no longer canon, could this be where Hugh Jackman cameos?).

A recent photo of Ajax confirmed that this version of the character won't look exactly like his comic book counterpart, but what about his powers? "His superpowers are that he feels nothing," Skrein revealed. "He feels no pain, but also psychologically what's interesting is that there's huge parts of his mind which is missing. The social responsibilities and all those things, so it's a very interesting character. He really doesn't feel that much, so I suppose he's a sociopath in the truest sense." @Astromerc in what way does the fact that fox making it mean it's gonna be bad? Xmen movies (besides last stand) were fantastic and the set videos and official pics have looked awesome so far. Nothing but hype for this movie

Hugh cameo, younger actor in a flashbacks , then go with Weapon X movie with new leading man.

Also you can cast a new actor to play younger Logan in the upcoming Wolverine movie (who would share a movie with Jackman) and then go with Weapon X.

That's good. The leaked script from a few years back didn't mention Weapon X at all and that was a major plot hole for me.

^ Probably like a lot of narrative like Burn Notice.

Weapon X was such a great read, that plot twist at the end was crazy and pretty traumatizing. lol

It's hard to cast a younger Wolverine at this point but however they manage to handle it I hope they do it in a smooth fashion.

@TheOracularNerd

i think best way to do it is to show younger actor in a flashbacks and Hugh in a present time or as old Logan in the future. In one movie of course. Then you can focus on younger Wolverine adventures.

A good transition to go to a new Wolverine actor might be to have The Wolverine sequel feature flash backs to his Weapon X days with a younger actor. Maybe leave Wolverine out of Apocalypse and then have the transition take place in the X-men movie after that one where he can meet the younger X-men team that will probably be Cyclops, Beast, Jean, Nightcrawler, Storm and Angel.

That Weapon X story by Barry Windsor Smith should of been what they went with for X-Men Origins:Wolverine.

@marvel72

i was talking to my neighbour about that like 4 hours ago. He showed me GOT intro with
David Benioff credited as a screenwriter and i was like ''this guy and Tom Rothman [frick]ed up Wolverine movie. It should be based on Weapon X"

i still don't know why i hate Rotthamn so much. Probably because he allowed "Wolverine:Origins" movie to be based on Benioff script.

I would like to see wolverine 3 go like this....

Old man Logan like. But have sabertooth kill his family early. And have wolverine track him while fighting thru a list of his enemies. You can have a group of Things,omega red, lady deathstrike, cyber( I would love cyber in a wolverine movie), so on and so on, and have sabertooth as the end fight. Trade professor x for Hawkeye. Bam!!!! Old man Logan can work, send Hugh out with a very big action movie.

What is missing with wolverine in movies is how bad ass of a fighter he is(he literally knows all fighting styles), and his animal instincts. You never see him smelling, hearing or seeing like he does in comics.
